Hello, I’m Stephen and I’m looking for a new housemate for my maisonette in West Hampstead.
I’ve been here with my long-standing housemate Emma for nearly three years. Emma lived with me at my previous address before we moved here and we’ve been living together since 2014. Emma is moving in with her partner.
The property is spread over the top two floors (10th and 11th) of a block in West Hampstead. It has fantastic views of London and all the big London landmarks are visible. From Wembley Stadium in the west to Canary Wharf in the east and everything in between.
The living room and kitchen are on the upper floor and downstairs are the bedrooms and bathroom.
You couldn’t ask for better transport links. West Hampstead Underground (Jubilee Line), West Hampstead Overground, West Hampstead Thameslink and Kilburn (Jubilee Line again) are all close by and the C11 bus stop is right outside.
I've been renting a room since 2004 and am seeking a female housemate as that's what I've always been used to.
I am an AuDHDer and don’t want to have to be ‘on’ at home. So sometimes I might not be very communicative at all and someone who understands and doesn’t take that personally is essential.
I work Monday to Friday, currently as a builder, but a nice, lefty one in a nice, lefty little firm.
In my spare time I make music, but never in the house.
I am prone to singing along to what’s playing in my alway-on headphones, but I value peace and quiet at home.
I’m meat-free, but do eat seafood.
I recycle as much as possible and am trying to reduce the amount of plastic I use.
Please get in touch if you'd like me to help with any questions.
There is still decoration ongoing as I await planning permission to move a couple of doors.
That's why the living room doesn't have the wood floor laid yet.
I understand that a live-in landlord won't suit everyone, but I'm in no hurry. I just want to find the right person.
Emma says:
It has been great living with Stephen, the flat is clean and tidy, and whilst there are a few cosmetic things here and there, there is still work being done on the flat to make it more comfortable (renovations can always take time) it has been perfectly comfortable during my time there.
If you are a Beatles or Doctor Who fan, it is a big plus and I will miss having a cuppa in the kitchen talking about the latest season with Stephen.
Someone who is neuro diverse or neuro friendly, (which has been a large part of why Stephen and I have got on) would be great.
I've enjoyed lodging and has meant that if there has ever been anything go wrong in the flat I've immediately been able to talk to Stephen to get it looked at rather than contact a management company or estate agent and wait for ages for them to fix something.
Emma will be available to chat to potential housemates, so she can answer any questions that I can’t.
