Room to let West Norwood

This ad is for a Mon-Fri lodger for the spare room in my 4 bedroom family home in West Norwood, South London.

My name is Jen, I am a 49 year old teacher and I live with my two kids, aged 15 and 13 (50% of the time). We've had aupairs for years, plus my sister and her girlfriend rented the room for a while, so we're all used to having people in the house. This will be our 4th lodger.

The house is spacious, with 2 living spaces (3 if you count the 'den' in the garage at the bottom of the garden), 2 bathrooms and a large garden. The room is a large double with fitted wardrobes and a large chest of drawers. It overlooks the garden so it's nice and quiet, although our road is quiet anyway. I’ve recently recarpeted the room and bought a new mattress. The rent includes bills (utilities, TV + internet, council tax) and weekly cleaning (not of the lodgers room).

Ideally I’m looking for a professional who needs weekday accommodation, so I’m going to try that before going out for a full time lodger. The usual deal is that I can use the room at weekends on the rare occasion I have guests. Possessions can be left in the room and I can provide clean bedding and towels each week if that would make life easier.

West Norwood is a great location - we have a thriving high street with shops, restaurants, cinema and leisure centre. West Norwood station (8 min walk) has links to Victoria and London Bridge, Tulse Hill station (15 min walk) also has links to Blackfriars and St Pancras, and Brixton is the nearest tube.
