*There is a possibility for a continued lease and these are old photos from when we moved in *

Hi! We are looking for a person to join our 2-bed, 2-story flat in Bethnal Green (Zone 2 but right on edge of Whitechapel [Zone 1]). The place is available starting Aug 27th but needs to be filled by Sept 15th. AS OF NOW, IT IS ONLY TIL OCTOBER 15TH, but there is the potential for a continued lease. We are flexible with how soon you want to move in, but it must be by this end date! Our lovely wonderful incredible flatmate is moving to Australia and so we need to fill the room! Rent is due the 15th every month so the first month (August 27th-Sep 15th ) would be half rent as the other flatmate will pay for the first half of the month.

Logistics:
The room itself is the biggest in the flat, with a south-facing window with great light and an incredible view of the city. It is a large double room and is £975 per month. It comes furnished with a bed and 3 wardrobes. There is the opportunity to buy the bookshelves off the current tenant as well. The current tenants have been able to have the agency pick up and remove furniture so if you are bringing your own or want to hunt around the markets near here for a different style, that option is available too!
The house is located in a family-friendly estate with plenty of space to lock up your bike (brownie points if you are a fellow cyclist ; great bike paths around here). There is a estate park behind it and is a under 10 min walk from both Whitechapel Station, BG underground and BG overground stations! The proximity to transport links is one of the biggest slays of our home.

The flat is a maisonette on 2 levels with bedrooms, bathroom and separate WC upstairs and lounge and separate kitchen downstairs. It is carpeted and cosy! The space has a great living room with couches, a projector, and a nice big bookcase. We have a separate dining room space attached to that room, elevated on a carpeted ‘stage’. The kitchen has all new appliances and we have PLENTY of pots, pans, dishware etc that you could use and would not need to add to. The toilets and bathroom are detached which we love. And one of the flatmates has filled different rooms with her plants (also brownie points if you love plants, want to add to our ~oasis).

There will be two other tenants in the house—one women and one nonbinary menace. We are open to all genders and orientations so long as you are respectful in return. One of the tenants is a student so council tax is low/none depending on if you are a student or professional. We are Council Tax Band B. I (Liv) am the student so do not pay council tax. If you are a professional, you will share council tax with Abhirami (£70 per month per person). Bills (broadband, energy, and water) come to about £60 per month. Each person has a utility bill in their name and we are looking for someone to take over the water bill as Alex, current tenant moving out, currently sorts that.

Flat vibe:
We are a very socially close household and very good friends. We are big on “doing life together” and we share a lot: resources, meals, friends! This type of dynamic being replicated is of top importance to us. We host a monthly sports day and OFTEN host people for dinners, movie nights, afters, and silly times. We are of course respectful of bedtimes and privacy but if having people in the house (especially big groups) is not your thing, then this living arrangement won’t be for you.

We are also big on having a tidy space and share a chore rota and set laundry days in order to ensure consistent and communal cleaning. Your room is your own, of course, but we are looking for someone who prioritises tidiness in our common areas, a clean kitchen, and a DIY streak. We would love to keep decorating and upgrading the space with a new tenant!

One flatmate, Abhirami, is 26 and a working professional who works mostly at her office but sometimes from home. She loves to cook, go to the gym, travel, and grab a glass of wine! I, Liv, am 27 and a PhD student. I run a craft club and a poetry group and love to cycle and swim. We both love chess and reading and exploring the local area. We would get along with someone who is creative, up for socializing but independent, wants to get out and go to events and gigs, go watch the football at the pub (!!!) and/or have cute nights in. Again, we are seeking someone who wants to LIVE with other people, not just share the space.

If this sounds like a bit of you, reach out and tell us a little bit about yourself, what occupies your time, and what you are looking for in a new place!

We will conduct interviews the week of the 24th. We anticipate it will be a Sept 15th move in but are flexible.
