I am leaving our lovely Wimbledon home in early August and looking for someone to take over my spacious en-suite bedroom. I have loved being in this flat and am only looking to leave as I am buying a property.
ABOUT THE HOUSEMATES
The two other housemates are Emma (27, teacher) and Sim (30, accountant). Emma and Sim are clean, kind, friendly, chatty and supportive. Emma and Sim both love travelling and Emma also loves theatre while Sim is a big fan of yoga and hiking.
This is a great house for you if you are looking for a home, and the right balance between being social and time for yourself. As a house we have gone for walks/coffees and spent time together in our open-plan kitchen/living space. However, Emma and Sim are really respectful when you need your own space, and there is no pressure to socialise.
ABOUT THE ROOM & FLAT
The room is great value for London – a spacious, en-suite, with a bath! The room comes with a double bed, a large white shelving unit, a chair, in built big wardrobe and a bookshelf. There is also a large desk (only 2 years old) available to purchase at a reduced price.
The flat as a whole is big, with a balcony (perfect for summer!) and an open-plan kitchen living area, with sofas, a breakfast nook/stools, and a dinner table. Rent is £932 a month and bills are approximately £140 a month on top of that. The bills include a twice monthly clean of communal areas and the shared and en-suite bathroom. Council tax is band E. I have added the deposit I paid, but am just confirming what the amount will be for the new tenant and will update when I know if it's changed.
ABOUT THE AREA
The flat has a bus stop outside with buses that will take you directly to Wimbledon station (district line/south western railway) and South Wimbledon (northern line). I find most of the time it takes 5 minutes on the bus to get to Wimbledon Station, and about 20 minutes to get to South Wimbledon.
The area is lovely. There are gyms for every price point, lots of bars, cafes and restaurants, a theatre, cinemas, and beautiful Wimbledon common and Wimbledon Village.
Transport is great – about 20 minutes from Wimbledon station into Waterloo. Wimbledon is one of my favourite places in London, I couldn’t recommend living here enough. It’s great for you if you want to come home to somewhere that doesn’t have the intensity of central London, but there is still plenty to do on your doorstep.
