Homeshare Location:

A 15-minute walk to Woodside Park tube (Northern Line direct to the West End and City) as well as to the local supermarkets, shops and cafes there, and in pretty Totteridge. There are lovely green spaces nearby including Woodridge Nature Reserve and Dollis Brook and a direct bus to Brent Cross. Our homeowner is a driver and is happy to drive the sharer to the station or shops.

What the Opportunity involves:

A lovely Homeshare opportunity for a kind and caring person to live affordably (£240pm) and comfortably in a convenient and quiet residential part of north London in return for providing approx 10 hours per week of practical support and friendly companionship, and an overnight reassuring presence to an older lady in her 80s.

Our homeowner, who is in her early-80s, was until a year ago a live-in companion and friend herself to an older woman for many decades until she passed away. She has had a sharer for the last 9 months who is sadly leaving to return abroad to her family and she is looking to be matched with a new sharer as she does not want to live alone. She has a good support network who keep in touch and visit regularly but she would like to share her lovely home again for some mutual companionship, a bit of practical help, and the overnight reassurance.

Originally from Switzerland, our Homeowner has lived in the UK for over 60 years. She is gentle and sweet, easy-going, warm and caring and loves company. She is in good physical health and is still driving although prefers to lead a simple, quiet life watching television, doing word searches and playing games on her iPad.

This opportunity will suit a kind, friendly and reliable female (this is our Homeowner’s preference), who is either working or studying from home, or on a hybrid or flexible basis with an easy commute, who would like a quiet, safe, clean place to live.

Someone who can be a friendly face around to say hello in the mornings, offer a cup of tea, help with some light housework and preparing or heating up a few meals during the week. Someone who would enjoy chatting with the Homeowner and sharing some time watching television, sharing meals or going out for a coffee or to the shops.

Other practical help might include picking up some local shopping, and helping with the odd IT issue but this is mainly about companionship, being a warm presence in the house and providing overnight reassurance. No personal care is permitted.
