A comfortable room available in a friendly, well-kept home in a quieter residential area of Liverpool.

If you like the idea of being close enough to Liverpool to enjoy everything the city has to offer, but would rather come home to somewhere peaceful, this could be a great fit.

There are direct bus routes into Liverpool city centre, and the house is also really well placed for anyone who drives, with easy access to the major road network.

🐾 A little about the household

There are two much-loved dogs who are very much part of the family, so being comfortable living with dogs is essential.

They’re an important part of my life, and I’m looking for someone who genuinely likes dogs and is happy to have them around the home.

You wouldn’t be expected to look after them or take on responsibility for them — they are my dogs and my responsibility — but they are part of everyday life here.

The house is clean and well cared for, but it is also a home with two dogs — so dog hair is inevitably part of the deal! I keep on top of cleaning, but this isn’t a sterile or completely hair-free environment. If you need an immaculate, pet-hair-free home, this probably isn’t going to be the right fit.

I recently moved house, so there is still scope for making a house a home. Happy for suggestions and practical input so it feels like yours too.

👋 A little about me

I’m in my early 40s but definitely still young at heart. I work for the council with children, young people and families, which can be emotionally demanding at times, so home is important to me as a safe, relaxed space where I can switch off.

Outside of work, I’m happiest getting outdoors — walking, camping, spending time with friends and, of course, being out with the dogs. I’m sociable but also really value having downtime and my own space.

I’m looking for someone who is similar in that respect — independent and comfortable doing their own thing, but friendly and happy to have a chat or share a cuppa when it happens naturally.

The location is particularly handy for people working in the surrounding area, with good access to:

* Local schools and hospitals

* Retail
* Fire service and other major local employers
* Independent gyms and fitness facilities
* Supermarkets and local shops
*M57, 58 and East Lancs

For shopping and entertainment, Aintree Retail Park and the showcase cinema are only a short drive away.

You don’t always have to head into the city centre for a good evening out either. West Derby Village has a great selection of places to eat, drink and relax, with more of a village atmosphere — think Lark Lane vibes.

For getting outdoors, Croxteth Country Park is also close by, so there are plenty of opportunities for walks and fresh air.

🏠 About the house

I’m looking for someone who wants a comfortable, clean and relaxed home, rather than simply somewhere to sleep and stay in your room rather than interact with each other.

The house is shared, so I’m looking for someone who is considerate, reasonably tidy and happy to contribute to the normal day-to-day running of a home. Nothing complicated — just the usual give-and-take you’d expect when sharing with another adult.

Privacy and having your own space are important too, so there’s no expectation that housemates need to be joined at the hip. It’s about having a good balance between doing your own thing and being considerate of the person you live with.

One important point: this wouldn’t be the right home for someone working regular night shifts, as the household has an early-start routine and everyone needs to be able to get proper rest.

I’m much more interested in finding the right fit for both of us than simply filling the room.

The dogs are non-negotiable members of the household, so someone who isn’t comfortable living with dogs wouldn’t be the right fit.

FYI rent is inclusive of bills and a fortnightly cleaner for shared areas, You will have access to all shared areas and garden.

Room will be furnished with a day bed that can be pulled out to king size, wardrobe and a desk. Looks out across south facing garden.
