Hi!
We’re three folks in our late 20s/early 30s looking for a new flatmate in a queer-friendly flat. We’re a fifteen-minute walk from Haymarket and a short bus ride from the city centre.
Rent is £600 per month and bills are around £85 each per month (that’s council tax band C, gas, electricity, and broadband together).
Move-in is May 1st.
The room is fully furnished with a double bed, desk, and storage. The flat is on the first floor and there is a small and well-kept shared garden out back. Shared bathroom and living room/kitchen area with lots of shelve and fridge space. High ceilings throughout, so it feels quite spacious. The bathroom is a bit small - a toilet, sink, and shower - but the water pressure is decent so a plus in my book. There is no lift in the building and there are steps up to the front door and down to the garden.
We’re looking for a like-minded person who would enjoy being social but also respects that none of us are particularly extroverted. We mostly keep to ourselves but enjoy hanging out over a drink or a cup of tea now and again. Other professionals are preferred due to council tax, but we’ll consider students. Also a strong preference for someone planning to stay long term.
I’m Lyall, he/him. I currently work as a seamster. When I’m not working, you’ll find me listening to books, spinning or knitting, or baking.
Ash, she/her, is a fellow professional and regularly works from home. Her interests include D&D, video games, and writing.
And James, he/him, is currently studying. His interests include music, conservation, horticulture, and board games.
I have asthma, so strictly no smoking.
Pets sadly also not allowed, though it can be discussed with the landlords. Cats and dogs are a no, but anything small and not freely roaming around might be considered – a previous flatmate had fish.
As to the location, the flat is in a great area – metres away from the 22/34/35 bus route, a five-minute walk to Fountain Park where there are bars, a gym, restaurants, cinema, arcade, and bowling. Harrison Park and the canal are both a stone’s throw from our door. Haymarket station is 15 minutes by foot. Bus routes 1, 2, 3, 4, 25, 33, and 44 are just around the corner. Lidl is around a five-minute walk but if you’re needing a bigger shop then there are a large Sainsbury’s and a retail park with ASDA, M&S, Aldi, etc. on a short bus ride into Slateford.
Please get in touch if you're interested and tell us a bit about yourself. We'd be very happy to answer any questions you might have as well.
Lyall, Ash, and James
PS. My working hours are unpredictable, so it might take me a day to respond
