Room Available

We have one unfurnished room with ensuite bathroom available on the second floor of The Salisbury Centre. The rent is £720 per month, inclusive of all bills (heating, WiFi, electricity, and council tax). A deposit of £500 is required.
The living room, kitchen, and bathroom facilities are shared with up to two other residents.
This is a standard Assured Periodic Tenancy.

About The Salisbury Centre

Founded in 1973, The Salisbury Centre is a charity and community centre dedicated to supporting mental, physical, and spiritual wellbeing. We are open daily until 10pm for events, classes, and private hires.

What to expect as a resident:

• Your private space includes your bedroom, ensuite, shared bathroom/shower, and the shared living room and kitchen.
• The hallways, ground floor, and garden are public-facing areas used by private hirers, event attendees, and staff.
• We have two AirBnB’s adjacent to the resident living room which are regularly occupied. We therefore ask residents to be mindful of noise in communal spaces in the evening.
• You may be approached by members of the public who assume you are a Centre representative.
• You will not be expected to act as staff or provide information or assistance beyond normal neighbourly courtesy.

This tenancy is best suited to someone who is sociable, community-minded, and comfortable sharing space with members of the public in common areas.

Paid Caretaker Role (Separate Contract)

The Centre requires someone to perform a nightly lock-up and security round of the building. This involves approximately 7.5 hours of work per month (around 15–20 minutes per night).
We are offering this as a separate paid employment contract, entirely independent of the tenancy.

Role: Nightly lock-up and security rounds
Hours: 7.5 hours per month
Pay: £13.45/hour (paid monthly via PAYE)
Contract type: Part-time employment contract

Important notes on the caretaker role:

• The tenancy does not require you to take this role
• The role does not require you to be a tenant
• Historically, this role has been performed by residents, and we will offer it to any successful tenancy applicant
• You are free to decline the role and remain a tenant with no change to your rent or terms
• If you accept the role and later wish to resign, your tenancy continues unaffected

AirBnB Changeover

In addition to the caretaking role, there is also the opportunity to take on occasional paid hours for changing over the AirBnB rooms between bookings. These are optional and ad hoc opportunities shared with Centre staff and other community members. More details can be provided upon request.
