Hey everyone! Looking for a flatmate to fill an empty room in a 2 bed flat. Lease starts 1st September. The room is currently empty so an earlier move in date is very much possible.

About the flat:

It's a double bedroom in a two-bed tenement flat, with a lovely kitchen and big courtyard with trees and clotheslines. It's a very quiet street and building, very close to the canal.

The bedroom in question is facing the street, but it's a dead end and super quiet. There is double glazing and a gas boiler, so the flat heats up quite quickly and the heating is much cheaper than electric. EPC band C.

I'm not a student, so if you are a student we would get a discount on council tax, but I would expect us both to pay it. It's an agency flat, and the agency is very responsive in terms of repairs.

About me:

Hi, I'm Cheri (they/them) and am a recent graduate of illustration from ECA. I love being creative, sketching and painting outdoors as well as rollerskating. I am vegan and like cooking big batches of curries, tagine and soup. I have an interest in languages and speak German and am currently wanting to learn more Scottish Gaelic and in the future Algerian Darja too. I enjoy being outdoors and am keen to explore more of Scotland. Music is important to me too and I like going to gigs locally and in Glasgow. I am looking for someone who also shares values of anti racism and is pro Palestine.

I am quite chatty and I also value downtime and space to just be. Maintaining a clean and respectful environment is important to me and I’d like to share the flat with someone who is also friendly and queer (though I am open to allies too). And someone who values open communication and having a relaxed and peaceful home. I am looking for someone who would be wanting to stay long term (more than 6 months) as rent is increased with each tenancy change. I have also lived in Edinburgh for nearly 5 years now.
