# Council Tax – Please Read

I’m currently exempt from council tax as a full-time student, so I’m looking for either:

*Another postgrad student, so the property remains council-tax exempt
* Someone who is happy to pay council tax themselves — with the 25% single-person discount, this would currently be around £183/month

Location: Newtown, Edinburgh

Just a 5-minute walk from St James Quarter, with excellent transport links. Picardy Place tram stop is very close by, while Leith Street — served by many bus routes — is also just a short walk away.

Getting around:

Bus station — around 5-minute walk
Waverley Station — around 10-minute walk
Picardy Place tram stop — very close by
King’s Buildings — around 25 minutes by bus

A bit about me

I’m a second-year PhD student in fungal cell biology. I’m tidy, respectful and sociable, but I also really value having a calm and friendly home where we can both relax and do our own thing.

Outside of my PhD, I enjoy going to the gym, running, cooking and anything creative.

Who I’m looking for

Someone friendly, considerate and tidy who’d like a relaxed and comfortable home. I’m happy to socialise, eat meals together and occasionally do things together, but I also appreciate having our own space.
