I care deeply about the plight of our planet and my carbon footprint. I am spiritually based and the other lodger is a Buddhist. We enjoy the house as a peaceful, quiet base from which to live in the world and are looking for someone who will appreciate and contribute to the same.
I work as an academic proofreader and copy-editor in my garden office. I used to teach English as a foreign language and have enjoyed helping many lodgers whose first language is not English to improve their conversational skills.
If you're interested in this room please give me some information about yourself, for instance your age, what you do, and how long you're looking to stay, and anything else you feel is relevant.
A recommendation from a previous lodger:
'I very much enjoyed my stay here. It's a quiet house in a quiet area, ideal for studying (or getting great quality sleep). The house has a great personality, it's warm and has a very relaxed atmosphere and my room is great for studying and reading!
The garden is large and a really nice place to go and relax (did a lot of sunbathing as the high hedges provide shelter from wind and neighbours) and to top things off the lovely landlady is the perfect combination between good advice when asked for and not interfering so as to create any kind of pressure on the lodgers. All in all, highly recommended!'
Another writes 'My room is clean and well equipped, the bedlinen is provided by the landlady. There is a lovely peaceful garden. The kitchen and bathroom are always clean and tidy. At weekends we all clean these communal areas, which does not take long and provides us all with a high quality of living. The kitchen is well equipped, which is very convenient for someone who does not have their own cutlery and cookware. I never had to wait either to use the kitchen or the bathroom. Finally, the landlady is very nice. I worked at home and never had a problem with noise or any other distractions.'
