The Island is a historic boatyard community now entering a new phase of stewardship and regeneration.
We are:
- Gradually restoring original engineering and boat sheds
- Improving infrastructure and shared spaces
- Strengthening a culture of environmental responsibility
- Regenerating our woodland
The site operates largely from our own solar generation and sits within a biologically diverse stretch of river. Respect for wildlife, shared spaces, and neighbours is essential.
We have a no pet policy as we already have some animals on the island, free-ranging chickens and a local munt-jac deer.
The Island is accessed via a short dinghy crossing. A personal dinghy is provided and maintained by the tenant. It may also be used recreationally along the river.
This is waterside living. It requires comfort around boats and water.

- 30 minutes’ walk to Norwich train station
- 5 minutes by car
- Easy access to bus stops and beryl biked
Deposit is 4 weeks, rent payable monthly in advance.
Working professionals preferred.
Ideally suited to those without a car, but roadside parking is available on a first come first served basis.
Contributing to the Island:
We are in an active phase of restoration and development. For those with relevant practical skills, there may be scope to offset part of the rent through agreed project work.
