Double room in Starbeck, Harrogate

Love my garden

My current lodger has just given her notice. So I am looking for another lodger for my house in Starbeck from September (possibly sooner). The house is between Harrogate and Knaresborough and within walking distance of the Nidd Gorge river and Long Lands Common nature reserve.
It is a lovely peaceful, sunny home - 5 minutes walk from the train station which goes to York and Leeds in 30 minutes. There is a regular bus service into Harrogate, which takes 10 minutes, (past the hospital which is 20 minutes walk).
I am an artist and film-maker who usually lives half the time in London - so you would have the place to yourself quite a lot of the time.
My lodgers are all ages from 21 to 60. And though I like to keep the place clean, I am pretty laid back. I love my garden and one lodger helped me build a wildlife pond. He also worked from his bedroom during lockdown, which has a desk and office chair.
Under normal circumstances, when I am here, I am pretty quiet and don't go out much except the occasional gig as I am very into music and the cinema. I am a keen fell walker and have trekked all over the world (Andes, Himalayas etc). I've also lived abroad. Politically I am a leftie. I read the Guardian and listen to a lot of radio 4 and 6 Music. My ideal house mate would care about the environment and what is going on in the world; be considerate and well organised. You would probably be a graduate or similar - Happy to have male or female, gay or straight and any nationality.

When you contact me please tell me about yourself. I am also open to renting out the whole house for a month or two to the right person, but the rent would be higher and I would need a higher deposit.
