Double bedroom in modern, sociable flat

Open plan shared living space

We have one double room available in a modern flat in Reliance Way, Cowley. The flat is on the first floor, accessible by stairs or a lift. It's a nice and safe area with minimal noise. The flat has modern furnishings and is clean and well kept.

About the room - a cosy double that gets the afternoon sun. The room is fully furnished with a double wardrobe with built in full-length mirror, drawers, foldable desk/dresser, chair, bookshelves, etc. A comfy bed that has been kept clean – would make a cosy home for any lovely, sane person out there. Plus, a bathroom with a bath/shower (that actually works, rather than just dribbles on you), shared with one other person in the flat.

Onto the rest of the place: there is an open plan living-kitchen area where we spend most of our time. The kitchen is clean and modern, fully furnished with all the white goods including dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, and blender. There is plenty of cupboard, fridge, and freezer space. Unless you wanted to bring your own, you wouldn't need to bring any plates or utensils as we have enough to stock about 20 kitchens. (Must get around to that crockery cull…)

The living room has sofas, a dining table and chairs, two well-stocked bookcases, lots of plants in various stages of life, a TV, plus more crafting paraphernalia than you can shake a stick at - I’m a sucker for a new project (finishing them, though… Seriously, send help.)

Finally, there are a couple of storage cupboards, a washer/dryer, (temperamental) iron, etc.

There is one parking space for the flat, which is already occupied, but there are visitor spaces should you need, which we’ve got quite good at nabbing.

A little bit about us - I'm Bex and I live with the lovely Chris (I'm not just saying that for the sake of the ad, he's actually great). We both work full-time, hybrid-style with a couple of days in the office and the rest working from home each week.

Chris is an Australian guy who works for the dictionary and loves crosswords, (but don't worry he's also fun and loves to go for a drink), and he likes film and TV shows as well as going to art exhibits and gigs.

I also love getting out for some live music or cocktails and a lil dance but am equally happy staying in for baked goods and a series binge watch (currently a latecomer to the White Lotus bandwagon).

We try to take advantage of all the fun things Oxford has to offer - but in a simultaneously cool, nerdy, chill kind of way. We’re pretty quiet on school nights.

Now on to you, we are looking for a preferably sociable professional who would enjoy hanging out and maybe grabbing a pint. But don't worry, we also like our private time as well. We are not massively anal (had to be careful how I typed that) but if you’re capable of emptying the dishwasher, taking out the bins, and picking up a hoover then you'll be just fine.

Bills are normally around £130 a month per person (including broadband), in addition to rent at £500. (Council tax band C.)
