Hi!
We are seeking one housemate for a friendly house share of 5 people (3m, 1f, mixture of postgrads and young professionals paying their own council tax). We have upcoming viewings for two properties on Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th August. Pictures of both properties attached.
One house is 69A St Clement's and the other is 14 Salford Road. Please get in touch for links to Rightmove listings, and if you would like to do a quick video call after reading this ad :)
About the group:
Me (Alex) — 23m, going into second year of MPhil in Slavonic studies at St Hugh’s college, musical hobbies (I play violin and piano but keep it out the house!)
Jake — young professional (paying own council tax), 25m, working as student music officer at the Schwarzman Centre (I met him and became friends with him last year through a music production we both did). Very chill guy haha
Sam — got in touch through facebook, 24m, incoming PGCE student also at St Hugh’s. Met a few times on video and seems like a lovely guy
Zoe — 27f, joined the group yesterday, starting a job in Oxford as a geography teacher at a secondary school. We met her on a call this morning and she seems very nice!
Ideal requirements for a 5th housemate:
- on the legal front — must be able to source a UK-based guarantor and have a right to rent in the UK (i. e. be a UK citizen or have a visa and a share code)
- someone willing to start the lease on September 1st or thereabouts (one of us starts a job in early September and there is also significant pressure from letting agents to start sooner — this was a requirement of the last house we viewed, which fell through)
- for the sake of flexibility, it would be much easier if you were comfortable with either of the locations mentioned. It's fine if you have a preference, as we will decide as a group after the two viewings, but given the competitiveness of the rental market (we lost out on our last application to another group) we do need some degree of flexibility as a group.
- someone comfortable in a reasonably social household — doesn't necessarily mean house parties, but we'd like to do stuff together as a household every now and then (board games, dinners, maybe hosting people)
Please get in touch if this sounds of interest to you!
