I work in the Emergency Services, I do shift work (approx 3 to 4 per week which are 12h+) so you will have the house to yourself during these times. I have two house cats, one who will love your attention if you want to give it to her, the other will just mind her own business. I have an Australian Labradoodle puppy who is crate trained. The cats are very placid and don't scratch or bite. The puppy is a bundle of joy, sleeps throughout the night/no braking and is quite when in his crate and sleeps a lot due to being a puppy.
No smoking in the property however I have no issues if you are a smoker.
