Newly decorated double bedroom - peaceful, friendly house in a village just outside Frome
Who you'd be living with
I'm 39 and work in marketing, mostly from home with a day's travel most weeks. I have a friendly, laid-back labrador called Hazel so liking dogs is a must.
I'm looking to share my home with someone friendly, kind, clean and considerate. I'm sociable but equally happy doing my own thing and used to my own space.
Im out walking with Hazel every day, I like pilates, crafts, exploring new places, nice food, watching a good show, hanging out with friends and family and the occasional glass of wine at the village pub.
Because I work from home mostly, it would suit someone who's comfortable with a quieter house during the day - though you're very welcome to be around too but it probably wouldn’t be ideal for someone else who works from home a lot.
I'd happily consider one dog or another small pet, but no cats I'm afraid. There's a small additional monthly charge for pets, which we'd agree depending on what it is.
The room and the house
The room is newly decorated and is a compact double. I've deliberately not put all the furniture in yet, so we can agree what you need when you move in. There's additional storage available elsewhere in the house too.
Right next to the room there's a toilet and basin, and downstairs there's a large shower with excellent water pressure. An upstairs bath and shower is planned but not in yet.
There's a large living room and a separate big kitchen-diner, so there's plenty of room for us both to have our own space.
The garden is huge, with several different areas and comfortable outdoor seating. If you have a passion for gardening or want to grow your own veg then I’m really happy for us to agree a space for you to do that
The village
You'd be part of a genuinely lovely community. I couldn't have known when I bought the house how good the village would turn out to be - the neighbours are welcoming and there's a real mix of ages.
The pub is the heart of it and there's always something on: quiz nights, crafts, live music, bingo, barbecues, karaoke. There's also the village summer fete and a Christmas one.
There are excellent walks straight from the front door, so it's ideal if you like walking or cycling. Frome is five minutes by car, and Bath around half an hour. There's a bus through the village, but the service is limited
