Hi
I'm the current housemate looking to find someone to take the single room in the house. It's a first floor flat with bedrooms next to each other up the stairs. It's available from mid May/June 2026. My current flatmate is leaving end of April.
House is cozy with a spacious living room, there's shower, washing machine and all that jazz. There's also central heating with brand new boiler installed. Landlord is a very nice guy and always comes to fix or help with whatever is needed. I'm up for any suggestions for the living room. We can rearrange stuff and maybe get a small sofa, that's absolutely fine.
Outside there's also a bike shed if you got a bicycle to store and we've got gated parking, however, I'm using the designated parking space. Extra car might possibly fit somewhere, but I would need to speak with landlord about this, and this is not guaranteed.
I gotta be honest - I'm pretty social but I also value my time alone. I'm up for doing stuff together every now and then. I'm pretty quiet (apart from when I play my e drums or sing to some songs), take care of the house and by 11pm I'm in bed. I would prefer someone that is okay with that, and have a similiar schedule. I mainly want the house to be a comfortable, safe space for both of us whether we feel social in the particular day or not. No pressure is the name of the game. I don't mind occasional socialising, but I'm also very comfortable on my own and need my time. Don't get me wrong - I'm pretty friendly and easy going but I want to be honest about how I roll.
I work a mix of 9-5 from the office and morning/afternoon shifts from home. Mainly at home and I have to yap for a living (customer service). I work at the desk in the living room, you're welcome to use it as well when I'm off/working from the office.
Important things to consider:
There's a cat living here - el Presidente. You gotta be fine with cat occasionally interacting with you, meowing, shedding and all sorts of cat activity. Ideally, a fan/ally of cats is preferred! I will, of course, take care of all his needs, no extra work for you. I've got some holidays planned, so would be very grateful if you can take care of him while I'm away. Just feed him and keep him company.
Please no parties or overnight stays of other people. Bedrooms are right next to each other and I really need a good night's sleep. I know it's a big ask, so please consider if it's the right place for ya. I'm up for maybe an occasional friend visit and dinner, but ideally not too late in the evening and no sleepovers.
Also something to be aware is that I practise e drums for around 1-2 hours (tops 3 if I'm ever inspired) a day. They are not very loud, but there's some thumping and noise produced, so it can annoy some. I'm always considerate, and never play early morning/late evening.
Lastly, I'm tad light sleeper so would really appreciate if around 10pm-11pm night silence is observed. I know it's a bit of a mix of being loud during the day and expecting silence at night!
I know all above might be much, but on the upside I'm happy to do most house chores, as long as you help a little with some tasks like dishes, sorting out rubbish. I like vacuuming and deep clean, so it's all good. I'm also keeping track of all the bills, keep stock of cleaning products, happy to help with any big shop if car is needed and I always welcome feedback and I'm considerate with your requests.
Price is 450 for room and the total with bills come to around 600-700, depending on our energy use. (may be bit more because of any energy price spikes). We're talking about gas, broadband (there's Virgin broadband in the house) council electricity and water.
I know room is quite small but there's just me in the house so you get to enjoy rest of the house as well. House is literally 10-15 minute walk from the centre/Central train station. Bute Park is also very close, and the neighborhood is sound. The only dodgy pub nearby went bust:) All neighbours around are nice.
Message me for viewing and if you got any more questions. Please write a bit about yourself. I will likely require some references and also we should chat for a bit for me to know you bit better. I really wish to find the right person to have a peaceful coexistence in this house.
If there's any extra furniture needed I may ask landlord and there's also a big charity shop couple minutes away so I can buy something if required.
Thank you for reading all this! If this advertisement seems to resonate with you, drop me a message.
Thanks, Witold.
