Living Room

I’m Elisha (she/her), we’re a queer household and at the moment both of my current housemates are moving out (one is buying the house next door). Both rooms available are large doubles. The room shown at the minute is not one of the rooms that will be available (they’re bigger), it’s just making time for the Spareroom admin. I'm looking to find someone that I connect well with, who can then have input on finding another housemate and I’m keen to continue living with other queers. There would be 3 of us in total. Definitely wanting it to feel like your home, and not that you’re fitting in, it is definitely a lush opportunity for you to shape the home, so finding someone who fits energetically and has a similar outlook on what they want is important. Rather than just renting a room, I’m looking for people who want to co-create a calm and cared for space. Also, would be open to a cat moving in for the right person.

Looking for someone communally-minded who also values each other's need for space and independence. That being said, I am social and value connecting with each other in very low-pressured ways, sharing meals when the mood hits, watching a films etc.

The House:

The house is generally light and peaceful, we have a cleaning rota for larger tasks and clean as we go for smaller things. Someone who is keen to contribute to the upkeep of the house and who would find this suits their way of living would be ideal. We also have monthly check-ins to make sure we’re maintaining good communication about the house and making collective changes if they’re needed. Whilst we are communally-minded, sharing the cost of household items such as cleaning supplies, salt, oil etc. we buy our own food separately and each has a cupboard to store our own food.

Generally throughout the house there is space to store your things in communal areas, including indoor bike storage. We’ve furnished the house, but as I have said, people are moving out and we will need a few larger items and a few other bits as folks move out so there will be room for you to contribute to the aesthetic of the home.

There is a lush green space out back (I’m a gardener), with fruit tree babes, a small pond and space to chill. That is super peaceful and as my housemate is moving next door, we’ll share the space with another queer person.
