Caring person needed for our lovely elderly, fit, independent and sociable father and grandfather of 9 grandchildren We are looking for a caring, professional individual who can provide meals, wash clothes, iron and help with iphone issues, in exchange for very low rent. Duties will take up to 15 hours per week. The room offered is a lovely dual aspect double room in a four bedroom house with large garden and access to the Downs and to Pewley Down and beyond. You can work at home if required as the bedroom is large with plenty of room for a desk or there is a study downstairs. The house lies at the top of a cul de sac with access to Guildford (1 mile) by walking or bus. This would suit someone who is kind, caring and responsible and willing to pay a reduced rent for helping our Dad with the following:-
- provide a meal for Dad each evening (he is not picky!) and this can be left for him if you are out for the evening.
- leave lunch out for Dad each day.
- organise a food shop online each week (paid for by my Dad)
- wash Dad's clothes and iron if necessary
- help with any mobile phone issues
Dad is a very sociable, easygoing, interesting man who has many friends, enjoys conversation, gardening and the outdoors and is often out socialising. He loves the outdoors and goes on 2/3 mile walks with friends. He attends church every week and is very young at heart. He has a good mind and is always happy to chat!
This is a quiet home and would suit someone who is homely and enjoys the simple things in life. We would like someone who has experience working with elderly people, enjoys their company and happy to provide some companionship. If you work full time, that can also work well providing there is a little flexibility and the above roles can be included. Ideally suits someone who works from home as there is an office to work in. Bills and food included.
