Spacious Double room in High Heaton

I’m moving into my own place, so I’m looking for someone to take over my room in a shared house in High Heaton (NE7).

Move-in date is any time after 12th of October, but if you would prefer earlier, there is potentially some wiggle room.

The room is a large furnished double room on the ground floor, at the back of the house, with a really nice view out onto the private garden. It comes with a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside table. There is also enough space for a comfortable work-from-home setup.

The house is a quiet four-bedroom semi-detached house on a leafy cul-de-sac. There are currently three other professionals living here: one girl and two guys. Everyone is friendly but mainly does their own thing, so you get plenty of space and privacy. It’s not one of those houses where everyone is constantly in each other’s business.

🏡 THE HOUSE

The house has a large living room, a good-sized kitchen and a private back garden.

There is also a washer-dryer, and you would have plenty of your own kitchen storage (two cupboards, a pantry shelf for pots and pans, plus half of the fridge and freezer).

There’s also a garage, which is really useful for storing a bike (or two 😄), as well as any other larger things you might not want taking up space in your room.

The internet is good and reliable. I work from home sometimes and have never had an issue with it.

Cleaners come in once every two weeks, which keeps the common areas in a good condition.

The house is non-smoking inside. Smokers are welcome but would need to smoke outside.

The rent is £560 per month, including:

- Council tax
- Water
- TV licence
- Fast WiFi
- Cleaners every two weeks

Gas and electricity are separate. We currently put £50 each per month into a shared pot, which we built up over the summer.

There is no damage deposit.

The room is available immediately, and ideally we're looking for someone who is working (or a mature postgraduate student), looking for a place for themselves rather than a couple.

The landlord is an accredited member of the National Residential Landlords Association.

🚶‍♀️🚲 LOCATION

The house is in a really convenient location, particularly if you work at Freeman or commute into Newcastle.

- 5 min walk to Freeman Hospital, including the bus stops outside/near the hospital
- ~ 10 min walk to Longbenton Metro
- ~ 15 min walk to Four Lane Ends
- ~ 20 min walk to South Gosforth
- ~ 10–12 min walk to Lidl
- ~ 10–12 min walk to Sainsbury’s Heaton Superstore
- ~ 10 min away from a gym (either The Gym Group or David Lloyd)
- Paddy Freeman Park is very close, with access towards Jesmond Dene

There’s a cycle/footpath directly behind the house, which makes it really easy to get out and about without having to walk along the main roads.

So whether you work at Freeman, commute into town, cycle, use the Metro, need to do a supermarket run or just like having everything reasonably close, it’s a really convenient place to live.
