Postgrad students only

Please read my advert fully — I’m looking for a single mature/postgrad student, preferably female, to look after my flat while I am away. You should be able to go home/away for the Christmas holidays, and vacate the room for the summer (from June), when I return home.

About me: I am an English teacher. I work in Italy during the school term, and I rent out my spare room while I am away. So you will mostly have the place to yourself except when I come back for short holidays to visit friends and family.

My son comes home for Christmas, so you would have to be away that week (but you can leave your things — he only needs a bed). No rent is payable for that week.

My flat is one of eight flats in a beautiful stone building. It is well-kept, warm, clean, and well-equipped.

My spare room has a double bed, double wardrobe, good hanging space, a storage cupboard, and two sets of drawers. There is also an office desk with computer monitor, and a shelf for books.

The kitchen is has all the usual things, but no freezer. (However, the supermarket is two minutes away, and is open until 10pm if you have a craving for ice-cream,.)

There is a washing machine, but no tumble dryer — instead, I have an old-fashioned pulley where you hang your clothes up to dry. Clothes dry well overnight.

There are good transport links. The 43 bus to Edinburgh centre (Princes Street) takes about 30-35 minutes, longer in traffic. Or, by train, the train journey from Dalmeny Station takes 15 minutes. There is also a bus (Jet 747) to/from Edinburgh Airport (18 minutes from Airport to South Queensferry).

As you will see from the photographs, I have an amazing view. Queensferry is a great place to live with lots of green space, a friendly community, and many local activities — rowing club, watersports, swimming pool, singing group, art club, book club, etc,

All I ask is that you live quietly, so as not to disturb my neighbours, and keep the place in good order . The rent includes cleaning of kitchen, bathroom, toilet, and living room every four weeks.
