A friendly and interesting older lady with reduced mobility is seeking a Sharer for her home to offer a little practical help and company each week in exchange for the low-cost accommodation.

She would enjoy the friendly reassurance and company of having someone living in her home. She would also like some general practical help around the home such as picking up shopping, cooking a few meals (up to four each week), light cleaning and tidying, opening jars, carrying heavier items, simple tech, and other ad hoc practical help and errands as may be needed. (nb she also has a weekly cleaner).

The accommodation on offer is a furnished double bedroom (double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, desk) with its own shower room. The kitchen, sitting room and garden are shared with the householder.

The property is in King’s Heath on the south side of Birmingham, with good bus routes into the city centre, as well as trains from Pineapple Road station (approx. 15 minutes’ walk from the house).

A retired English teacher, the lady enjoys reading the newspaper, puzzles, classical music (listening to it, playing the piano, choir and going to occasional concerts), watching TV, reading, going to church, and gardening and plants. She is also a member of U3A (poetry and plays).

As a Sharer you are free to work or study as long as you have enough spare time (up to 15 hours per week in a mix of practical help plus a little company) to give the agreed level of company and support. The ideal Sharer will be a positive, friendly, kind, helpful and reliable non-smoker who ideally shares some of the lady’s interests.
