About the Room
A rare and special room in one of Moseley’s most characterful Victorian homes. The top floor is effectively your own private space — a large, light-filled double bedroom with sloped ceilings, warm carpeting, good storage, and a wonderfully cosy atmosphere.
The floor has its own dedicated bathroom featuring a beautiful original navy roll-top clawfoot bath — a genuinely lovely place to unwind at the end of the day. There is also a separate WC and wash basin on the same floor.
The room is furnished with a double bed, chest of drawers, wardrobe, bedside table and additional storage furniture. You are welcome to personalise the space and make it your own.
About the House
This is a stunning period home retaining much of its original character — think high ceilings with decorative coving, original pine floorboards, and a beautiful stained glass bay window in the kitchen that looks out over the garden. It’s the kind of house that feels genuinely special to live in.
Kitchen: A large, sociable kitchen-diner with a range cooker, plenty of storage, and direct access to the garden. Shared with the family, though there is ample space and storage allocated for your own use.
Garden: A generous, mature garden leading directly out towards Moseley Pool and Park — ideal for morning walks, running, or simply enjoying the green space on your doorstep.
Location
Moseley is one of Birmingham’s most sought-after neighbourhoods, known for its village atmosphere, independent cafés, restaurants, and bars, and its beautiful pool and park. It has excellent transport links into the city centre and is very well connected to the University of Birmingham — making it ideal for professionals working in the city or postgraduate students at the university.
• Moseley Pool & Park: on your doorstep
• University of Birmingham: approximately 15–20 minutes by bus
• Birmingham City Centre: approximately 20–25 minutes by bus
• Moseley village shops, cafés and restaurants: 5 minutes on foot
The Household
You’ll be sharing the home with a friendly and welcoming family — two adults, three children, and one other family member. We lead busy, active lives and are looking for someone who will feel at home here, respect the family environment, and be a positive presence in the house. We are not looking for a lodger who wants to be invisible, but equally we completely respect your privacy and independence, particularly on your own floor.
We are happy to consider working professionals or postgraduate students at the University of Birmingham. We ask that you are a non-smoker (including outdoors) and do not have pets.
What’s Included
• All bills included (gas, electricity, water, high-speed WiFi)
• Use of fully equipped kitchen
• Use of large mature garden
• Your own dedicated bathroom on the top floor
Rent
£800–£850 per month (all bills included)
One month’s deposit required.
Flexible move-in date — we are waiting for the right person rather than rushing to fill the room.
A 6-month lodger agreement will be provided, with the option to extend.
To Apply
We will ask for:
• A brief introduction about yourself and your circumstances
• Proof of employment or university enrolment
• References (employment/academic and previous landlord if applicable)
• Formal referencing check prior to move-in
We warmly invite you to come and view the house and meet the family before any decisions are made — we think once you see it in person, you’ll love it.
