A warm and sociable older lady with reduced mobility and some short-term memory loss is seeking a Sharer for her home to offer a mix of 15 hours’ help and company each week in exchange for the low-cost accommodation.

She would value the friendly reassurance and company of having someone around her home in the evenings and overnight. She would also like some general practical help around the home such as picking up shopping, cooking/helping to cook around four meals each week, helping to keep the home clean and tidy, and ad hoc practical help and errands as may be needed. The lady is Hindu and is a strict vegetarian, so the ideal Sharer would also be a vegetarian. She is a very good cook.

The accommodation on offer is a beautifully-presented double bedroom with fitted wardrobes with a built-in dressing unit and drawers, and shared use of the kitchen, sitting room, and garden.

The property is in a residential area to the east of Sutton Coldfield, with regular buses to the town centre (20 mins), or a 10 min cycle ride. It’s approx. 45 minutes bus journey to Birmingham City Centre. There is parking.

The lady is kind and sociable, and enjoys company. She also watches Asian programmes on TV, attends a senior citizen’s club a few days each week, phones her family and friends (who also visit regularly), and really enjoys dressing up for family social events. She used to be very good at crocheting.

As a Sharer you are free to work or study as long as you have enough spare time to give the agreed level of company and support. The ideal Sharer will be a friendly, kind, helpful and reliable non-smoker who ideally shares some of the lady’s interests.
