Lodger/House Sitter
The rent for this space is lower than the market rate because the lodger agreement includes a commitment by you for regular house/pet sitting – from overnight, short breaks to longer periods of up to 2 weeks.
The house/pet sitting is an essential part of the lodger agreement and a lodger will be asked to move out if this is not fulfilled. I will book dates in advance and can usually be fairly flexible.
The pet sitting involves looking after my dog and two cats. This would be feeding them in the morning and evening, changing the cat litter trays and walking my dog. My dog is medium size and needs around a 10-20 minute walk every 2-3 days. He can be left alone during normal working hours.
I have a daughter who lives near enough to deal with any emergencies if either animal needs to go to the vet.
It is essential that you have experience of pets. You will need to provide photographic ID and references as well as proof that you are entitled to live in the UK. Ideally, I am looking for a mature professional who is in employment. Sorry, no couples.
This is a non-smoking household so you should be a non-smoker – not a smoker who only smokes outside.
The accommodation is a self-contained annex in my garden with separate access. It is fully furnished with a fold-away double bed which has a sofa underneath, cupboard, drawers, foldaway desk and chair. There is an en-suite shower and a kitchenette (sink, microwave & fridge). You will have open access to the kitchen in the main house as well as the washing machine.
Bed linen and towels can be provided if needed.
I am in my sixties and have shared my home with lodgers for many years. I enjoy walking, cinema/theatre, gardening and photography and plan to do quite a bit of travelling over the next few years but want my pets to be well cared for while I am away.
The house is within 5 mins walk to Chichester railway station, 10 mins to the city centre and 20 mins to the hospital and university. It has easy access to the A27. The street has parking restrictions but a residents car parking permit can be purchased from the Council. A bicycle can be stored in the garden.
We are close to the Nuffield gym and the cinema at Chichester Gate and the canal tow path is at the end of our road for walking and cycling.
Please message me with a detailed description of yourself and your experience with animals.
