A spacious, well-presented double room available now in a lovely, peaceful home in Crigglestone, Wakefield.

This isn't your typical house-share. I'm looking for one mature, independent lodger who wants a comfortable home rather than simply somewhere to sleep.

The house is well placed for Wakefield and the surrounding area, with local bus services nearby and convenient access to the M1 motorway, making it a great base for commuting.

There are also plenty of local amenities within easy reach, including shops, supermarkets, places to eat and drink, gyms and leisure facilities.

The home

You'll be sharing a well-kept, relaxed adult home with just one other adult, rather than a busy multi-occupancy house-share.

You'll have use of the shared facilities, including:

Bathroom with shower, shared with just one other person

Fully equipped kitchen, with cookware, crockery, cutlery and everyday kitchen essentials provided

Microwave and air fryer

Your own fridge/freezer

Your own dedicated storage space in the dining room

The atmosphere is friendly but independent: somewhere you can come home, shut the door on the working day and actually relax.

There are also three friendly spaniels, so you absolutely need to be comfortable living with dogs. Expect wagging tails and the occasional conviction that everything you eat should be subject to a spaniel tax.

Three spaniels is quite enough animal administration for one household, so no additional pets, please.

A little about me

I'm a friendly, grounded professional working in IT service management. I have my own life and enjoy a good balance between being active and having a peaceful home to come back to.

I'm regularly at the gym and swimming, love getting out with my dogs, and equally enjoy a quiet evening at home with good food and something decent on the TV.

I'm sociable, warm and have a good sense of humour, but I'm also independent and appreciate my own space. I'm not looking for a lodger who disappears silently into their bedroom for six months, nor am I looking for an instant best friend! A friendly chat in the kitchen, a laugh and then getting on with our own lives would suit me perfectly.

I take pride in my home and want it to feel relaxed, comfortable and welcoming, rather than full of rules and awkwardness. I just ask that whoever lives here treats the house, the dogs and each other with consideration.
