Bedroom

Double room available in a gorgeous country cottage with 2 other housemates, due to a housemate moving out. Available from 1st November. Potential earlier move into the spare room (temporarily) for the right person if necessary.

Room is mostly furnished with a double bed and wardrobe, I do have a spare bedside table if required. Alternatively, I am happy to leave the room empty if you have your own furniture you’d prefer to bring. Please note the bed currently in the room belongs to current occupier so a different bed will be provided.

The cottage is on a very quiet country lane, with a good size garden, shared kitchen, dining/living room and bathroom (bathtub with electric shower), with a spare room (guests welcome with notice given☺️). Large American-style fridge in the kitchen for shared use with one other housemate (I have my own fridge) but the freezer is shared between three. Dishwasher, washing machine and all kitchen appliances (except airfryer) are communal.

Due to the location, you will need your own car - there is no public transport (or anything else for that matter, except a pub and a church!) within walking distance - but the walks from doorstep are scenic, only a short walk on the road to footpaths that run through fields and past the river Avon.

Malmesbury is a 5-10 min drive, where there is a Co-Op, Waitrose and Aldi, some nice restaurants and a few essentials stores, but it is only a small market town. Chippenham is the closest larger town - about 20 mins drive. Swindon and Cirencester are around 30-40 mins, Bristol and Bath around 45 mins drive. The closest stations are Chippenham (direct to London Paddington/Bristol) or Kemble.

Two other female housemates, 29 and 30. I have a cat and dog (both are very small and friendly, but you will need to animal-friendly!) and work from home. Other housemate has guinea pigs (kept in her room).
Pets may be considered, but my cat can be very nervous of other animals and I don’t want to make her uncomfortable so any pets would be subject to a trial period.

£550pcm, payable on the 1st of the month, includes rent and monthly bills (electric, council tax, broadband, water). Heating oil is generally purchased once a year (depending on usage, heating is turned off from March-November ish, hot water is on for a few hours a day AM/PM year-round) and paid separately (equally, three ways), depending on current oil prices.

Women/NB preferred and no couples please. Similar age to current occupants preferred.

There is a lay-by opposite the house to park.
