Part-time Telesales (Macclesfield)

Are you looking for a rewarding job? Love talking to people? Looking for something a bit different? We're currently seeking talented and enthusiastic sales individuals to increase growth in our overseas flatshare and rentals market. You'll be keen to learn about new products and services and have a passion for communicating these to new customers.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Confident in identifying and calling prospective leads.
  • Driven and results oriented.

  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Experience in web or IT customer service and ability to build a rapport with customers.

  • Previous background in B2C telesales / telemarketing highly desirable.

Site Moderator (Macclesfield)

Spareroom.co.uk is the UK's number 1 flat share website and are looking to recruit a Site Moderator to meet the growing needs of the business. The full time position will involve using a purpose built system to investigate suspicious adverts with the aim of preventing attempted scams or misuse of our site services. At times the position may also require liaising with external authorities and supporting other departments within the company.

Responsibilities and duties:
  • To investigate and take appropriate action on reports of suspicious adverts.
  • To provide information and advice to other departments and customers in relation to scam detection.
  • To assist in developing, monitoring and implementing processes to aid scam detection and prevent future instances.
  • Maintain information records and collate data to aid future investigations.
  • Ensure advert content including photos and videos meet the terms and conditions of the website.
  • Complete individual customer verifications and tenant reference requests.
  • Assist with the completion of DPA requests from relevant authorities.
Required skills:
  • The ability to demonstrate a high level of analytical understanding, an eye for detail and strong computer skills.
  • Initiative when working alone and as part of a team.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence others.
Experience and Education:
  • The role involves some interaction with customers and may suit someone with a background in customer services. Any of the following may also be relevant: Financial services/E commerce fraud detection, Copy editing, Bookkeeping.
  • The successful candidate should be educated to A-Level or equivalent standard, a degree would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • You should be a regular and savvy internet user, understanding commonly used terminology and demonstrating an ability to recognise fake websites or scam emails.

Junior Site Moderator: Temporary Staff (Macclesfield)

Our award winning Customer Service Team provides outstanding support to SpareRoom's 5.5 million registered users. As part of this team, our Customer Service Advisors handle all incoming enquiries whilst working along side the Site Moderation Team who handle compliance and maintenance duties.

You'll be part of a busy team who work hard but who have fun along the way and are renowned for excellent service. The role is varied and will involve using both in-house and well known computer systems.

On a daily basis you will be responsible for helping to maintain the site through administrative tasks and communicating with our users via email.

As a junior member of the team, you represent the values and image of the company and as such are expected to be polite and courteous at all times.

Full and part time hours are available and we're looking for an immediate start, ideally running up until the end of October 2016. Some evening and weekend work is required. Our office hours are 8am - 9pm Monday to Friday and 9am - 8pm weekends.

Responsibilities and duties:
  • Monitor all adverts that are placed on the website and amend/remove content where appropriate.
  • Ensure all photo and video uploads to the website are relevant and appropriate.
  • To help maintain site security and quality through site moderation and scam detection.
  • Correspond with site users via email regarding their photo and video uploads.
  • To work as part of a team to ensure the smooth running of the department.
Skills and experience:
  • The ability to work as part of a team, support colleagues and promote excellent team spirit.
  • We're an online service so regular internet use and knowledge will go a long way.
  • Confident and positive personality with excellent communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
  • Ability to multi task and prioritise your workload.

Customer Services Advisor: Temporary Staff (Macclesfield)

We are currently recruiting for temporary staff to work during our busy summer and autumn period. We offer competitive pay rates, flexible working hours and the opportunity for you to work in our award winning Customer Service Team!

You should have a passion for great service and enjoy working as part of a team. As a Customer Service Advisor you will handle all incoming enquiries and be part of a close-knit team who work hard but have fun along the way and are renowned for providing excellent service!

On a daily basis you will be required to communicate directly with users of our site via email, phone and live chat. You will interact with customers to provide and process information in response to enquiries, concerns and requests about our website and services. You will also be responsible for helping to maintain the site through administrative tasks.

We are looking for someone to work full-time hours with an immediate start. The position would ideally run up until the end of October 2016. Please note some weekend work is required. Our office hours are 9am - 9pm Monday to Friday and 9am - 8pm weekends.

Responsibilities and duties:
  • To provide exceptional customer service within a fast-paced and customer-focused environment. - To answer all UK and US customer enquiries by phone, email and Live Chat.
  • To provide clear and concise customer information, handle and process transactions, manage customer access and respond to all types of incoming enquiries in an efficient, friendly and professional manner.
Skills and experience:
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong background in Customer Service: a background in Web or IT Customer Service would be beneficial.
  • Confident and positive personality.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
  • Computer literate with experience of email and the internet, plus a reasonable standard of typing. We're an online service so regular internet use and knowledge will go a long way.
  • A clear telephone voice with a polite, tactful and friendly attitude.
  • Able to clearly communicate technical information to non-technical people, both orally and in writing.
  • The ability to work as part of a team, support colleagues and promote excellent team spirit.
