Character home with private bathroom and parking

I’m looking for a friendly, considerate person to rent a lovely double bedroom in my characterful period home, just a short walk from Hughenden Park and its beautiful walks.

The bedroom is currently furnished with a bed (you can bring other furniture or I can provide), has original features including wooden floors and a fireplace, and you’ll have your own private bathroom. There’s also a shared living room and access to the rest of the house and garden.

The house is just about at the end of a fairly extensive renovation, although there are still a few niggly jobs to finish and quite a lot of furnishing to do. So it’s very much a home that is still evolving rather than a completely finished show home! I’m looking for someone who doesn’t mind living in a house that’s still having the odd finishing touch.

There is space for up to four cars on the driveway, which is a pretty rare bonus in the area.

There’s also a small additional room which I’m planning to furnish with a daybed, so there will be somewhere for friends or family to stay when they visit.

A little about me: I work in film and TV, so my schedule can vary massively. I can be working normal days, very long days or sometimes nights, depending on the production. I’m sociable and easy-going and enjoy having a chat or sharing a glass of wine, but I’m definitely more chilled evening at home than loud parties or a house full of people every weekend.

I also have a French Bulldog who is extremely friendly and loves company and a cuddle. He’s very much part of the household, so you’d need to be comfortable living with a small, slightly ridiculous dog who will probably decide you are his new best friend.

The house is particularly well placed for Hughenden Park, with lovely walks right on the doorstep, while High Wycombe town centre and the station are also within easy reach (there is a bus that goes from the road or it’s about a 15 minute walk to town).

I’m hoping to find someone who is clean, respectful and considerate, but also relaxed and sociable. Ideally, I’d like the house to feel like a home for both of us rather than a formal house share.

£850 pcm including bills.
£850 deposit.
