Family homestay for Chinese student in Cliftonwood

Sunny, peaceful, room overlooking the harbour

We have a lovely sunny double room at the top of our four storey house in CliftonWood with great views over the harbour and rest of Bristol (one of those classic coloured houses you get in the views of Bristol) which will be available in September.

We are a family of four, me and my husband, both English and our two children of 10 and 6 years old, who were both adopted from China, together with our pet cat. Hence our interest in having a Chinese student to lodge with us...something we have done happily for several years.

I have said Homestay in the ad as you would be living in our home – which I hope would feel like your home too – but it's not a homestay in the sense that all your meals would be cooked for you or you would be obliged to eat with us...though we would hope you'd want to do that from time to time.

The house is in CliftonWood, a quiet residential area that we think is one of the best bits of Bristol, a few doors down from the very friendly Lion pub and 10 minutes to the harbour, 15 minutes to Clifton Village, 15 minutes to the Triangle or indeed the University. If you like walking you can walk to most places from here and there are major bus routes close by too.

The rooms is tucked away at the top of the house, overlooking the harbour and is pretty peaceful. Recently decorated and carpeted it has a fitted cupboard, chest of drawers, double bed, desk and chair. There is broadband wifi in the house which is included in the price as are all the other usual bills. There are two bathrooms in the house, one on the top floor next to this room and one on the first floor. And downstairs there's a large kitchen/dining/living room which we happily share...piano too for the musically inclined...and small sheltered courtyard garden for when the sun shines.

We are looking for someone, preferably female, who gets on with children and who would be happy living quietly - but not too quietly! - with a family and doing some regular babysitting for us.
