Double room in nice flat with easy-going guy
Double bedroom in nice flat near to Southcote Beefeater. Flat is split over 3 levels with lounge/kitchen on top.
Current flatmate has decided to shack up with her boyfriend, so I need a replacement. She's been here for 14 months and hardly ever complained about me eating her crisps (I *did* replace them! And not with any old supermarket-own cheapo ones either - I have standards :) )
This is a nice place to live with easy access to The Ding and a couple of decent pubs within walking distance. Bus stop 3 mins walk away and Reading West train station 12 mins.
The accommodation bit:
Lounge 15'x16' with quite a nice view of communal garden
Double Bedroom 11'x9' with electric heater & large built-in wardrobe.
Decent kitchen: Large fridge/freezer, washing machine, lots of cupboard & worktop space, oven/grill
Shower room - shower is nice & hot and powerful
Wi-fi
Parking permit included; with 16 spaces for 40 flats there is a bit of tactical play at work to get your space :) Nearby on road parking is also ok.
Garage. Houses my bikes/workbench. Plenty of space for more bikes/bit & bobs
Lots of storage space
Balcony
Large communal garden
The money bit:
Romans manage the property on behalf of the landlord. To wit, you & I would be entering into a new tenancy agreement with them. The total deposit payable is £975, the total monthly rent is £772, bills are currently about £240 a month and the cost of the tenancy agreement was £240 the last time we we signed one. Divide all those by 2 and you know where you stand.
For the size & niceness of the place it's pretty cheap.
The pets bit:
Pets are officially verboten under the terms of the tenancy agreement, but I'm pretty easy about it. As it's a 3rd floor flat only house pets (buns, kitties or axolotls) will work. Anything bigger/louder (dags, llamas etc.) will struggle to evade detection.
The me bit:
I'm a 42 year old (but don't act it :) ) IT Contractor. I've been living in this flat for about 2.5 years and am very happy here. So happy, in fact, I can be bothered to keep it clean & tidy. Most of the time...
I'm out most evenings training at the local Wing Chun school and swing between extremely lazy & ridiculously active. I'm a keen mountain biker, curry eater and occasional snow boarder. Stout & red wine also feature in my diet.
I'm not much of a TV watcher, but don't mind the occasional movie as long as there's something in it to grab my attention - intelligent story lines, surreal imagery or lots of running about & explosions :D
Radio 6 in the kitchen, Radio 4 in the car. Interspersed with thrash metal, jungle, jazz, soul and a wee bit of hip-hop.
