Flatmate wanted for lovely house near The Level
Hello,
We have one unfurnished double room going in our lovely house on Park Crescent Road (between Lewes and Upper Lewes Road), and we are looking for a nice person to join us.
The rent is £476.25 per month excluding bills and the deposit is £505. It is not a huge room, but you can easily fit in a double bed and the usual bedroom furniture (previous housemates have even fitted an upright piano in there too!). It measures approximately 3m x 3m, plus a couple of alcoves (one with built in hanging space and shelves) and the bay window area. The room is unfurnished, and since the person moving out already has a new place, we want to find someone by 3rd November but the room can be available sooner if needed.
Bills come to approx. £100 per month for council tax, water, electric, gas and internet. The house has a lovely garden (with real plants, grass, bees and birds, not just a patio), a really big kitchen with plenty of cupboards, a cosy lounge, and a bathroom with a good powerful shower and bath.
We’ve been living here for quite a while and the landlords have always been pretty reasonable about repairs etc. Parking on our road is now permit only (zone J) - so you have to pay for parking, but it is easy to find a space on our road. There is also space in the hallway for a bike.
We're looking for someone aged 25+ who is friendly, considerate and grownup about cleaning to share our 4 bedroom house with us. We are just looking for one person per room, so sorry, no couples please. We are three women in our late 20s/30s and one cat; all professionals (except the cat!) and our interests are dancing, craft, walking in the countryside, nature and Netflixing. The cat is a lovely, friendly fluffball and likes to be made a fuss of, which is a great way to procrastinate over a cup of tea.
We are a friendly household and enjoy a chat and a catch up with each others' days, but not really a party house, and as we all have to get up for work in the mornings we would ideally like to find someone with a similar lifestyle. We’d much prefer a non-smoker, and as we are mostly veggie we would prefer someone who is happy not to cook a lot of meat or fish in the house (i. e. we can happily tolerate some meat and the odd tin of tuna, but would rather not live with someone who lives for steaks or seafood). For council tax purposes we are looking for someone who is either a worker or a part-time student (or if a fulltime student, happy to pay a share of the council tax). Since we already have a cat, sadly we can’t take any more pets (unless we are talking something tiny like a hamster or goldfish).
Ideally we would like to find someone who plans to stick around for a while and wants to find somewhere they can call a home, rather than just a room.
If you’re interested please drop us a line and let me know a little bit about yourself and what you’re looking for, and we can arrange a time for a visit.
