Friendly, sociable house share in Withington

Double room to rent in a great Edwardian house close to the centre of Withington. Rent is £475 per month including *all* bills and a cleaner.

The house is a cut above your average house share in terms of quality and is very spacious. There’s exposed wood flooring throughout, period fireplaces, a modern bathroom with rain shower and the usual mod-cons, broadband etc. The bedroom was newly furnished last year with double bed, wardrobe, bedside table and mattress. There are two downstairs living rooms for all to use, a decent-sized kitchen, plenty of parking, a large garden and a cellar.

It's a couple of minutes walk to the nearest shops, bars and gym in Withington, there's loads of buses and a cycle route to the University, hospitals and city centre close by and it's a 10 minute walk down to West Didsbury and the tram.

The house is mine (I work at Manchester Uni, in IT) but I’ve lived in house shares for years, love having people around and the place has the feel of a good house share. Also in the house is Kyle who works as a structural engineer. He is a great housemate and is really easy to get on with.

The room available is Sarah's who's moving out because she's off South East Asia for a travel fix. A mix in the house is ideal so a girl is slightly preferable to a guy but we're really just looking for the right person so can be flexible.

We work hard during the week but there’s always stuff going on. After living in the area for some years there's now a large and very welcoming group of us around Withington/Didsbury (mainly people mid-20s to mid-30s). We've been to Edinburgh Fringe the last 4 years, trips to the lake district, Christmas/NYE do’s, the occasional house party and our annual bar crawl around Chorlton which has now been running for 8 years. It couldn't be any less cliquey either because everyone’s link to the group is random (often via house shares).

We're looking for a down to earth, friendly person who doesn't hide in their room and will be up for the odd quiet glass of wine and a film during the week and pub nights in West Didsbury and random excursions at the weekend. Someone who can be part of the group, is easy-going and wants to expand their social circle a bit.
