Heya! I won’t be replying to anyone who doesn’t have an AD of themselves up. Respectfully.. First time living space sharers need not apply - I’ve already had to do a bit of hand holding in this process out of politeness- especially to some desi girls new to the area/country who have reached out, but your girl is a people pleaser and has a full time job! 🙏🏽🤣
If you’ve reached out because you’re genuinely interested in arranging a viewing and I therefore pass my number on to FT/WhatsApp…and you continue to just message me on this app- 😂😭😂

I won’t be interested in engaging further. I just want to live with someone a bit switched on and this comes across as a bit weird and awkward to me.

SO. This ad is high key going to make me sound like I’m on the spectrum. BUT living in a post covid world and with europe being engulfed in bed bugs, I can’t get over how some people still don’t do the basics, so.. let me be weird on here! 😀

I’m renting a ground floor flat in Watford Junction. I’ve lived here for 2+ years- and I love it here! This flat is my home. I’m after someone who would also like to make it their home 🙂 You’d be sharing with just myself- one flatmate!

Me: I’m a software developer. I partly work from home and my offices are in Farringdon and Hoxton. I’m a proud desi girl- much like your Nike trainers, ✨made in Bangladesh✨, but raised here. 🤣

Culturally I’m Muslim. But I’m not very practising. I’ve lived with people from all walks of life and I love it. I welcome anyone who respects other people’s faiths, backgrounds, into my home. I don’t smoke. I do drink socially.

I’d really prefer living with someone who doesn’t eat pork or ham - really hope you can understand 🙏🏽

The neighbours are nice- we recently had a block bbq in the summer on the beautiful grounds.

The flat has been fully furnished and spec’d out by me with new furniture in every room.

Communal spaces: living room, bathroom, kitchen.

Close to:
- the highstreet (7 min walk to Atria)
- Watford Junction station (6 minute walk with my little legs)
- 17 minutes into Euston.
- 10 minute drive to Pinner, Harrow, Northwood etc too!
- 4 minute drive to your local Tesco Extra
- 30 minute walk/12 min drive to Watford General Hospital for you doctors and nurses!

You will have access to:
- 55” 4K Tv, Netflix and Prime
- fast broadband,
- free offsite street parking also available just a 2 minute walk from the building on a safe, well lit street.
- a fully furnished double room with a brand spanking new ottoman bed and high end combination mattress (ample storage), new ikea furnishing, and an inbuilt wardrobe. (What you see in the photo is my old flatmate’s furniture which they’ve taken with them. The desk won’t be available so you might need to purchase one if you’d like one. I also won’t be providing duvet or pillows due to hygiene reasons.)
- smart dishwasher (no pressure to use it if you prefer hand washing!)
- Berkey water filter system for hygienic water consumption

Ideally after someone with the right level of OCD as me when it comes to the ✨bathroom and kitchen✨.

I’ve had quuuuuite the adventure with a flatmate a few years back who divulged only after we moved in couple of months later, that he is used to his mum and ‘housemaids’ doing everything for him. Definitely I’m erring on the side of caution with some explicit expectations 😂

Must haves:
- please be kind, honest and generally a decent human being 🥹
- please be considerate,
- no criminal record
- no drugs
- self aware
- with strong personal hygiene,
- who is house proud.. someone who takes pride in where they live, their appearance, the way the flat smells, the way they smell (can’t believe this needs to be said in the year of our Lord, 2024 🙏🏽)
- leave communal spaces how you pretty much found them (I totally don’t mind the ‘lived in’ look iykyk)
- don’t forget to lock front doors after coming home late 😅,
- foster decent fridge etiquette. I kindly ask that you don’t overpack the fridge with a month’s worth of food (has happened..), store away and cover your food hygienically (hasn’t happened..) and appropriately (the things I’ve seen y’all.. I say this for your own health..)
- I didn’t know this was a thing but I’d love someone on the same page about this one: wear some clothes 👁️👄👁️
I’ve had two flatmates in the past roll around virtually naked in ✨peak winter✨ while the heating is on full blast 24/7 (I wish I was exaggerating). I don’t want to see anyone naked please. 🥹

I wear a layer or two and put the heating to reach a comfortable temp for everyone.. 😅 I need someone on the same page about this one 🫠

Nice to haves:
- you don’t just leave lights, heating, and the tv on when you go on any 4+ hr mental health walks (this has actually happened with the volume at like 40)
- someone who works from the office (if you flex work from home, the rent and bills will need to reflect that £975/month
- would be nice to make a new friend who wouldn’t mind the odd chats and even hanging out while, of course, respecting eachother’s alone time 💃🏻

Appreciate we’re all human, make silly mistakes and have off days, but no one’s here for consistent inconsideration. Basically after someone who isn’t a bloody liability 🙌🏽

Flat rules- because this is a home, not a hostel ✌🏼:
- alternating cleaning weeks,
- going halves on cleaning products and communal stuff like bin bags,
- closing the kitchen door and opening the window when cooking,
- wearing clean socks on the sofa,
- if having backpacks on the sofa or any furniture gives you the ick, we’re gonna get on! 😂
- wiping down the bath tub and shower partition relatively dry after a shower,
- not wearing outdoor shoes, indoors,
- wearing clean sliders (that you can ideally wash in the shower) in the flat,
- leave the bathroom and kitchen sinks in a hygienic state,
- ventilation in your room with windows open whenever you leave the flat,
- reasonable amount of laundry a week- I had someone doing 4 loads of laundry a week for 6 hour stints. For 5 months. In this economy? Watford has shown me too much in my young life 🤣

That’s it!

Really basic stuff…

In conclusion, please be mf normal. 🥹🙏🏽
