2 double rooms in beautiful new veggie friendly ho

Hi all you lovely people!

After much searching we've just put down the deposit on an awesome 4 bedroom house between on Holloway Road. It really is fantastic! Now all that’s left is to find two more amazing people to join us.

THE HOUSE

It's a generous, 4 bedroom house, with:

- A new kitchen and dining room
- A big lounge
- 4 good sized double bedrooms
- 1 beautiful new bathroom
- And a garden that opens onto the adjacent park

It's partially furnished (sadly not with stuff in the photos), so it’s livable but you are also able to bring some of your own stuff, and/or join the January furniture mission to find awesome, cheap, beautiful modern/vintage stuff! And plants... bring on the plants!

THE ROOMS

Depending on which room we choose to use as the lounge the bedrooms can all be similar sizes (one just a little smaller, and one just a little larger), or one bedroom can be significantly bigger than the others - if someone wants that and everyone if ok with it. It will make sense once you’ve seen the house.

Depending on bedroom-livingroom stuffs, we will adjust what each person pays a little to reflect room size.

THE RENT

- The rent is £683pcm each (if split evenly)
- All utilities apparently come to about £16pcm each
- Council Tax is £33pcm each
- We’re also planning on a £15 per month kitty for consumables, shared food stuffs, xmas parties, etc. ;)

So it's about £747pcm each, all in.

We’ve got it, at this price, for 15 months. So ideally you’ll be someone who wants to stay for at least that long.

There are also the standard one off agency fees:
- £192 admin fee, split 4 ways
- £72 per person reference check

The current tenants move out on the 6th of January 2015. We’re waiting for the landlord to tell us how flexible they can be around our move in date.

US

We're both pretty chilled out people. And tidy. We've both got a lot on and our own circles but want this to be a friendly, communal feeling home where we all hang out, share cooking, and have a drink together when we can.

Alex: I’m 28 and grew up in London before spending years traveling and in other places - including 2 years in an ecovillage in the US. I do sustainable architectural design, as well as a few design/tech side projects. I’m pretty left / progressively minded / alternative. I'm also a vegetarian and mean veggie cook, do blues dance, climbing, photographic, ultimate frisbee, cycle, play guitar/sing, and eat quite a lot of humus.

Sam: I am an American and will start a postdoctoral position at UCL starting the 1st of January. I am 33 years old (but with a young spirit!), and have a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of California. I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, and currently live in Davis, California, where I completed my PhD. I am clean, laid back, and social. I like to grab a beer and socialize with my flatmates when time permits, though I will definitely be spending many hours in the laboratory at UCL. I enjoy reading, watching good shows, exploring the city, board games, and live music. I also hike and camp a fair amount, but that may be more suited to Northern California than London ;) I do plan to take regular trips about the UK and Europe though!

YOU

As we said, we want this to be a house of friends. So, we’re looking for people who sociable, relaxed, tidy, and want to do a bit more with their housemates than just cohabit. And, most importantly we get on with.

Also, very importantly, we’re all in favour of regular friends over for drink, dinner, etc., and I’m sure we will do the occasional ‘party’, but this is not a party house.

Equally important: You are not a smoker. Evening in the garden.

If you’re a veggie, a little bit alternative, passionate about what you do, and think a night in the pub playing Cards Against Humanity sounds good… awesome… we’re sure you’ll fit right in!

If you’ve got good taste in interior decor / furniture that also gets you bonus points. ;)

TRANSPORT & THE AREA

- Upper Holloway (Overground): 2 minutes walk.
- Archway (Northern Line): 5 minutes walk.
- Holloway Road: 15 minutes walk or 6 minutes cycle.

It’s just 30 mins to central London on public transport. And we’re just a few minutes from all the joys of Camden, Tufnell Park, Finsbury Park, Islington, The Castle Climbing Centre, and Hampstead Heath.

The all important 'local' is The Spoke. It’s a really nice coffee house and craft beer gastro pub, and is super close!

Then there’s Whittington Park which is literally over the back wall... perfect for a bit of frisbee and spill out from BBQs.

There’s also a really nice little Sunday market a couple of minute away up Holloway Road.
