Small double room iin Victorian flat, Brockley

The light and airy flat is one of 3 in a Victorian detached house, on the top floor (with secure intercom entry), just 2 minutes walk from Hilly Fields Park and 5 minutes to Brockley’s Saturday Farmers' market. It's on a quiet road with no parking restrictions (always spaces), with wonderful views from the living room and kitchen/diner over the 50m long gardens. There are three other tenants in the flat, Yvie, Oscar and John, - no couples.

This is a friendly flat - old housemates stay in touch - and we are looking for someone who is sociable, and will view the flat as home rather than a base, willing to socialise, eat together sometimes, the odd drink, etc. And whilst not anal about cleaning, this isn't a student house so someone who knows how to use a vacuum cleaner and isn't frightened to take the bins out from time to time would be good! We are all quite laid back and friendly - no notes in the fridge! - so we're just looking for the same.

There are 4 bedrooms in total; our 4th flatmate, Ellie, is sadly moving on. There is a large kitchen/diner and living room across the back of the house on two levels. The whole flat is on different levels. The living room has sofas, table and bookshelves, the kitchen/dining area has a table and chairs, washing machine and dishwasher, gas cooker, and fridge/freezer, and the flat has gas central heating with a combination boiler so we don't run out of hot water. The shared bathroom is huge with a big bath/shower with glass door. It's an unusual, quirky flat, spacious and colourful - if you like magnolia cream paint, this is not the flat for you!

The rent is £630 pcm, bills included - gas, electricity, (there is a cap for electricity and gas of £180 per month, so if the bill is higher than that then the tenants pay the extra, though this has never happened so far), council tax, water rates and broadband - but not phone calls - the phone is really there just to get the internet; everyone uses their own mobiles.

The room available has a wardrobe and double bed..

St Johns train station is about 10 minutes walk away, Brockley train station is 15 minutes walk, and the DLR is also about 15 minutes walk. Brockley is also a tube station although the train is quicker if you're going to the centre. The trains go to London Bridge but also Victoria. Both stations are in zone 2.

Greenwich and Blackheath are nearby, and there is a great farmer's market in Brockley, and a lovely cafe on Hilly Fields, and plenty of good places to eat in Brockley.

Although I am the landlady, I don’t live there - I live in Somerset; Yvie, Oscar and John will be showing you the flat. They will also decide who they think will be the happiest living there. We want to keep the balance of males/females if possible, so we are looking for another female.
