Huge, bright penthouse double room to fill in a characterful, friendly flat shared with lovely flatmates Alexandra and Kathy and occasional flatmates Deniz & Tempe [about one night a week for work].

The flat is on a quiet residential street of Victorian terraced houses just off Herne Hill and Coldharbour Lane, very close to Loughborough Junction station (and Ruskin Park), and a short walk from Brixton station (and Village) and Denmark Hill station.

Room available has rooftop views North towards central London and South over lush gardens. Kingsize bed with brand new foam mattress, desk, chest of drawers, wardrobe and under eaves storage, chest of drawers. Bathroom basically to yourself except when T or D visit. The room is available now.

The flat has been redecorated in the past 2 years including fresh carpets and paint throughout. It has a huge, homely living room with working fireplace, big sofa and lots of shelving; a bright and spacious kitchen/dining area; and a lovely 90foot long garden (+ greenhouse, shed, huge patio perfect for BBQs and a 200 year old mulberry tree).

Flatmate Alexandra is a trainee teacher and is frankly hilarious, Kathy researches and teaches at a university and is sociable but respectful. Deniz and Tempe (landlady) have just relocated to Reading but plan to continue to use a room as occasional bedroom/office, still contributing 1/4 of bills. I (Tempe) work at a national Museum in public programmes, and Deniz is an art photographer.

We are independent, friendly, respectful of others' space and we generally attempt to achieve a 'hygge' home environment (rather than student accommodation vibe)! We're looking for genuinely easygoing, sociable, tidy, self-aware professional or postgrad housemates aged 28+ and keen to join our friendly house.

Rent is £1015 per month. Bills currently come to about £100/month per person, we try to be economical. Council tax Lambeth band D. The deposit is one month’s rent. I own the flat (and am occasional live-in landlord) so there are no estate agent hassles. There is a 6-month minimum contract and the room is available immediately.
