Double Room in Haggerston Warehouse E8
We have a room available in our 1930's converted factory/warehouse @ £890pcm (ex council tax & bills/approx £100pcm). Available on the 1st June.
It’s a fabulous, loft style room with high ceilings and a mezzanine bed with safety rail (which gives you the benefit of all the available floor space beneath). It’s an ‘L’ shaped room with a permanently fixed desk space & shelves under the mezzanine. It can come part furnished with a wardrobe, chesterfield chair and a mattress.
This is one of the last truly spectacular old style warehouse shares left in Hackney, it’s part of a group of spaces inhabited by an eclectic mix of people; you won't find many others like this in zone 2.
There are five bedrooms surrounding a communal area that is a colossal 1200 sq ft, featuring some characterful antiques and vintage collectables. There’s a huge overhead skylight, which gives plenty of natural daylight, ideal for our giant house plants!
We even have a pulpit! (Great for sermons, political manifestos or just generally preaching to the converted) The main space is also host to photographic shoots & filming.
Our kitchen is wallpapered with a collage of pinups whilst the bathroom has an antique French roll-top bath.
There is gas central heating, and for particularly chilly evenings a wood-burning stove.
The warehouses are a community and it is essential that any prospective flatmate has an appreciation and respect for the space. This includes a sense of responsibility and proactive approach to keeping things running smoothly. Not averse to a spot of cleaning, changing lightbulbs, emptying bins etc.
Although obviously it's a great space for a knees-up, this is not a party house and we don't bring the entire pub back home. We like a peaceful, homely vibe.
You would be sharing with four others plus an adorable fluffy black cat. There are currently a balance of girls and guys with an average age of 35. We work in/as, freelance fashion creative/lecturer, freelance researcher/psychotherapist, Blockchain Architect, Marketing.
We don't have a tv in the living room; (although we do sometimes set up a projector for film nights) we much prefer the endangered pastime of conversation and can have a healthy debate on pretty much any topic - nothing is taboo.
We occasionally like to cook for each other, healthy (ish!) food is definitely encouraged.
Interests include drag racing (seriously, actual drag racing! Not RuPaul - but stilettos are also popular in the house), philosophy, tiki, vintage vehicles, art, sewing/making things, cooking, pickling, vintage outfits, fashion, music and cheese.
And sorry but no cats or dogs, small pets in cages are ok.
