Hello! We are a boring middle-aged couple with a cat and a spare room available, also open to Monday to Friday rent and/or short term rent.

We are located on West Bank in Stamford Hill, a 2 minute walk from Stamford Hill Overground station (easy to get to Liverpool Street), and the 253/254 mark> bus stop. Sainsbury's supermarket is a 5 minute walk away. Clissold Park and the Woodberry Wetlands are also nearby if you require a larger swathe of greenery. The Castle Climbing centre is very close, as is the West Reservoir (Jenni goes for cold water dips in winter).

Our neighbourhood is quiet and there are lots of different birds in the back gardens along our row. The room available has a medium-firm double bed in a room with high ceilings and two windows that view a green garden (neighbour's back patio) with lots of shade. The wider window opens fully, the narrower one does not. There's also a bookshelf (not visible) that can double as a standing desk, and a closet to hang clothes. The bed will come with a duvet/pillows/sheets but you will be expected to do your own laundry.

Large spacious kitchen to cook in, and back garden to spend time in. Washing machine available, line drying outside and a folding drying rack inside. Shared bathroom with a shower (sadly no bath!) and a shared extra toilet in the hallway. Dishwasher is forever broken :(

Even though we are officially a ground floor flat, there are steps to get to the door and some stairs inside so the flat isn’t really wheelchair accessible.

We are both bike mechanics so expect a lot of bikes, bike stuff, and tools around the house.

Ev (British Cypriot) is a recovering photographer/graphic designer/musician now working as a freelance professional bike mechanic at the Lee Valley Velodrome. Jenni (Polish/Japanese American) is a mechanic/serial entrepreneur/author currently restructuring her business and exploring writing her 2nd book. We are both introverts and probably have ADHD.

George-Michael (the cat) is 13 years old and will try to trick you into giving him food (he gets fed, trust me). Expect cat things like cat hair and the occasional litter smells (he has two litter trays that we regularly clean but since we work during the day he might do his business and then fail to cover it properly. In his defense, he’s a crotchety old man.)

We're a no-shoes household (indoor slippers are welcome), and only occasionally drink alcohol (like, once a month) (I did say we were boring). We like to cook dinner in the evenings and then relax watching Star Trek (currently DS9).

We are looking for someone who is housetrained, quiet, nice, and likes cats.

No smoking, no recreational drugs, no Tories, no Zionists. Sadly no couples - it would feel too crowded for us. And no pets - George-Michael won’t stand for it.

Rent is £850/month + £150/month for bills (water/electricity/gas/wifi/council tax/toilet paper). Deposit is £450. Get in touch with any questions. This is our first time doing something like this, so we’re bound to have missed something.
