Double room in LGBTQ house in Upton Park

Ad ref# 16182753

Hi there! I am looking for a lovely LGBTQIA friendly person to join me in my spacious two bedroom end-of-terrace house in Upton Park. I’m Canadian and have been living in London for 10 years. I’m neurodivergent, queer, a primary school teacher and musician. Love cartoons, drag, shopping for gorgeous little things, pub trips and have recently started hitting the gym and going for swims.

Have been living here for the last six years. I’m quite tidy and would like to find someone who is too. Guests are of course welcome though it’s definitely not a big party house. Generally like to have some peace and quiet in the evenings and on weekends.

The neighbourhood itself is quiet but cute, with a park at the end of the road and tree-lined streets that look gorgeous in summer. The house is a 15 minute walk from Upton Park Station, with easy access to central London on the district line. It’s also a 20 minute bus into Stratford for shopping or great restaurants. There’s a very cute pub (The Boleyn) a ten minute walk away that does great Sunday roasts, and has a cute little beer garden. They've also recently put in a new bus route that takes you to Custom House in 10 minutes for access to the DLR and Elizabeth Line. In terms of shops, there’s a big Sainsburys and a Lidl about 20 minutes’ walk away, and plenty of corner shops right on the doorstep. Additionally, there are plenty of amazing takeaways and bubble tea shops super close by.

The bedroom is a bright and cosy double that gets great light for selfies, with a huge double wardrobe perfect for any clothes hoarders or anyone in need of lots of storage. It comes furnished with a bed frame and desk/shelves.
Additionally, you would have use of the separate study at the back of the house – ideal if you need to work from home, or just need a separate space to focus in. It’s also perfect if you need a place for a friend to crash while they visit!

The bathroom has a shower and a gorgeous (and very deep) roll-top claw-foot tub, which is great for unwinding after a long day.

Downstairs is a huge living/dining room with 10-foot ceilings and loads of natural light. It’s a bright and comfortable space! The kitchen has a lot of storage, a brand-new cooker and gas hob, brand new boiler and a full-size fridge/freezer, along with some pantry shelves.

If you’re green-fingered then you’ll be happy to know that there is also a large garden at the back of the property with paving and a lawn, as well as a bed if you want to plant any flowers. There is currently a garden table and bench outside for summer al fresco dining or cocktails, and there are two sheds at the bottom of the garden which are great for storage. Additionally, as the house is at the end of the terrace, we get a lot of the neighbourhood cats stopping by to say hello every day, so if you’re an animal lover you’re in luck.

The rent is a bargain at £725/pcm.
