The area:

The house is located on Victoria Avenue, just off Princess Avenue which is one of the most popular, leafy and suburban areas of Hull. The area itself has lots of amenities, with a beautiful park nearby and plenty of local convenience stores. There are lots of great places to eat and drink within a five minute walk of the house on both Princess and Newland Ave. This really is one of the best areas to live in Hull. Very ease access to the University (15/20 minute walk), town (20 minute walk, but also on a very good bus route into town which takes about 10 minutes maximum) and also convenient for the Hull Royal Infirmary (less than 10 minute drive).
There is plenty of on-street parking available.

The house:

The house itself is an early 1900's 3 storey townhouse. Very large living and dining room with wooden floors and period feature fireplaces. Massive kitchen with all the modern appliances and a great seating area at the bottom looking over the garden, which attracts the sun all day long. Garden is well looked after and has a pond and outdoor seating area for alfresco dining (when the weather permits!).

The room itself is on the top floor of the house, which would effectively be your own space (my bedroom and bathroom are on the middle floor). The room itself is very big and has the exposed brickwork of the chimney that runs through the house on displsay. The room has a very comfortable double bed and two large chest of drawers. It doesn't have a TV but one can easily be provided if required. The room has a great ensuite with shower, toilet and handbasin and also some storage space. This would be your own bathroom as mine is on the second floor.

The house has wifi and Sky HD with On Demand too.

About me:

I am a 40 year old gay man and I lecture at the University of Hull in American Studies. I have a partner that lives in Manchester and we spend alternate weekends between Hull and Manchester so he is occasionally around too. I have lived in Hull for about 14 years and really love living in this part of the city. My interests include squash, the gym, the theater, cinema, history and eating out.

I am looking for either a professional or a post-graduate student. I take great pride in my house and would like a lodger that would equally respect the space. I am not a "clean freak" per se, but I want a lodger that would also take pride in the house and keep it clean and tidy at all times. I would ideally prefer to share with another gay man but would be happy to hear from anyone that is interested on the strict understanding that you must be a gay friendly individual given that my partner and I spend a lot of time at home on the weekends we are in Hull.
