Beautiful Room in Cosy, Oxfordshire Home
We're looking for a housemate that will enjoy a tranquil, high-plant-based-friendly, animal-loving lifestyle. This is a home occupied by a yoga teacher and a musician and we are sociable, but also enjoy the quiet of the home.
The guest room is a spacious, south-facing room in the upstairs of the home with a view of the large garden out back (where there are additionally three chickens to enjoy watching).
The bed is a comfortable double bed and there is a wardrobe and a dresser in the room; additionally, there is a small sofa in the space next to the window.
Outside of the room, there are shared room facilities: living room, conservatory, kitchen, bathroom and garden.
The wifi/broadband is fibre-optic.
With regards to the kitchen, please note that this is a largely vegan household. We are looking for someone who is preferably plant-based and motivated to make ethical food choices. We are an interesting pair in this sense, with one person being an Italian omnivore and the other being 99% vegan. So, let's talk about this with you if you think you might be a good fit for the house. :)
The village is quiet and friendly. There is a pub, a Coop across the street, a post office, a salon, etc.
The home is very accessible via car or a bus that literally drops off on our street. Free parking is available.
The S6 bus from Oxford city centre takes about twenty-five minutes and drops off directly on our street. The bus runs from Oxford to Swindon (and back) and has regular service throughout the weekday mornings, afternoons and evenings. There is service at the weekend, though as expected, it runs slightly less often (and not after 7pm on Sunday nights).
Abingdon is also accessible via a bus that runs from the same bus stop on the street.
The three most important things to note are: 1) the pets; 2) the shared bathroom; 3) issues about food (noted above).
There are two small dogs and two cats that live happily in this home (with access to the furniture, though you don't have to let them in your room).
If you have a dog that you'd like to bring with you, you're more than welcome to bring the dog here ONLY if the dog is friendly with other dogs and cats. If this is the case, we would need to discuss arrangements around your pooch in detail first. :)
Secondly, this is a three-bedroom house with only one downstairs bathroom. It is shared by us (a couple) and you.
The most important qualities we look for in a lodger are that they are a) friendly about plant-based living b) compassionate animal lovers, and c) clean and tidy with regards to the shared living spaces.
If you're interested, please feel free to contact. :)
In addition, please note that we would love to find someone who would be able to occasionally petsit for us. We would, of course, reduce rent/pay you for the days that you do this.
To note, we're especially happy to take students. Most of our past lodgers have been university students and/or visitors. Shorter-term lets are preferred for us.
Finally, regarding smoking, Antonio is a smoker, though he only does this in the garden. Inside the house, smoking is prohibited. Thank you. :)
