Easy going, quiet pet - lover seeks likewise

Ad ref# 2700626

Hi,

I am a quiet, friendly person and I would like to find a similar-minded person to rent a room to on a lodger (not house share) basis. I am a professional (veterinary / education) and have a hectic work schedule that means I tend to use home to eat and sleep in. I am looking for somebody similar as I would not be keen on having a house full of visitors and parties (I like the house peaceful and quiet). I think I have got too old for the hassle!

I am looking for a lodger that I would get on well with and I consider that to be fundamentally important. Someone who likes Eastenders, Holby City and Casualty would be a bonus. However, I am not looking for someone to socialise with. It is important that anyone I rent to is independent and has their own life and hobbies or they are likely to feel lonely if they depend upon me to provide companionship!

I have several dogs and two cats living at home so it is important that you love dogs and are comfortable living with animals in a multipet household and all that entails. I do like a clean and tidy house but if you are looking for pet hair free home or will have forty fits if dog a jumps up at you, etc my house will not suit. Please don't contact me just because you are desperate for a place to stay - you really will not like my home if you do not genuinely love being around dogs and, much as I want you to be comfortable in my house, it also my dogs' home too :) My cats would love to put in a request for someone who would like them to sleep on their bed at night as mum's bed is covered in dogs - but this is not necessary IMO.

I have only recently bought the house, it is a bit 'tired looking' (especially the bathroom) in places and very much a work in progress. The monthly rent reflects this! However, it is reasonably spacious (3 bed semi - detached) although the kitchen is not massive (and also 'tired'). There is limited kitchen workspace and storage so a person who loves cooking probably wouldn't like the facilities.

The house has central heating and a combi boiler so there is always hot water. The bedroom available is a double and is furnished. There is ample storage within the bedroom and a small desk. Parking is no problem.

The property enjoys a semi - rural location with fields / footpaths within a 3 minute walk of the house. There is easy road access to Market Drayton (5 miles away) and several main roads (A41 / A53) allowing straightforward access to Shrewsbury / Telford / Stoke / Newcastle), and it is only 20 minute (max) drive to Newport/Harper Adams/Whitchurch.

I would like to rent the room to a fellow professional or a mature student who loves animals (especially dogs). The room is available from Sept 2015 onwards. I have ticked the pets allowed box but, realistically, this would only be small, caged pets as integrating another cat or dog could be problematic. Sorry if it got anyone's hopes up too much.

Anyway, if you think we might get on, you might fit into my household, etc then please give me a bell!
