The room

Clean and pleasant house with gardens, close to Glastonbury town centre. £85 per week in advance and 5 weeks' deposit (ie £425). This means the first payment will be £425 + £85 = £510.
References are also required.
The room available is 6 foot 11 by 10 foot, so there's no point pretending it's any bigger, but it does have a double bed in it and can truly be described as cosy. The rent reflects the size of the room.
Very short term lets, up to a month considered, but this will cost more, depending on the length of stay. For this additional securities/personal recommendation would be needed by negotiation. Bedding and towels can be provided with this kind of arrangement.
Size notwithstanding, it is a pretty room with good light.
The room has had careful consideration with storage space. and there is a deep shelf , wide enough to take a small cardboard box, running round the top of the wall on 2 sides. There are strong coat hooks on the back of the door for hanging clothes, a very large cupboard, linen basket and bedside locker.
In the bathroom whoever shares gets their own shelf, cabinet, and towel space, and their own half of the window shelf.
In the kitchen they get their own double cupboard, drawer, dedicated worktop with power points, and a shared fridge with one other person.
Re: winter heating - a knowledge of and experience with woodstoves would be an advantage, but not a necessity.
At present there are two of us in the house. Whoever else moves in will have to be ok'd by the lodger already here. There is also a dog, a friendly silver lab, neutered male.
Both my long term lodger and I have our own established lives, so we don't mix much in the household, but we're kind with each other and others. We tend to get early nights, enjoy peace and quiet, but are ok with a reasonable amount of noise and music.
Living room is shared space, and there's no TV.
No preferences as to the kind of person who would be moving in, but we enjoy a high level of mutual trust and respect, and it is vital that anyone else who moves in is of like mind.
We are looking for someone who is domesticated, considerate, and committed to recycling, living lightly on the Planet, and the concept of social responsibility.
Having said all that, you're not expected to be perfect by any means.
