Single room in quiet Guildford bungalow+parking
Hi! Lodger wanted for single room, £500pcm inc bills. Mon-Fri is also an option, (£400 four weekly). Possibly available from 1st October.
The second (long term) lodger and I are 60 and 58 respectively, but previous lodgers have ranged from mid 20s to late 40s. The room would particularly suit someone who wants a fairly quiet home and location. In the evening and at week-ends there are usually 3 TVs on in different rooms, but none at an intrusive volume and, although semi-detached, no noise can be heard between the properties. The bungalow is in a semi-rural location, facing Chitty Common.
Bus stops for the 26 and 27 buses are 3 mins walk; the university, the hospital, Guildford railway station and town centre are all on the 26 route out and 27 route home. Or a slightly longer walk reaches the no 20 bus stop, with its route directly into Guildford. All of these locations are also within walking/cycling distance,(shortcuts available). I always walk into town, taking 40-45 mins, half of this being along the Wey towpath. There are local petrol stations,(inc a Waitrose 'local'), stores,(inc local Sainsburys and Co-op), take aways etc within easy walk but the property itself is in a quiet no-through road.
The available room is a spacious single (3.3 x 2.4m) at the front of the bungalow - facing the top of Chitty Common - with a single bed (with under bed storage), double wardrobe, chest of drawers, desk, padded swivel 'office' chair, bedside drawers (see video).
There is a good size back garden and parking for 3 vehicles on the drive. The bungalow has central heating and combi boiler (instant hot water). This year I relocated my kitchen and the new kitchen-diner has a new induction hob and new washing machine (the latter is not available for use by Mon-Fri lodger) as well as fridge freezer, dish washer and wall mounted TV. There is a shared double shower/loo/basin (though I don't usually shower until after both lodgers have gone to work). Please note that my living room is not part of the shared amenity.
We are friendly, considerate, clean, tidy and don't come and go at either very late or very early hours, (shift work that involves either needing to sleep during the day or unusual hours is not likely to be appropriate). If you are similar and would like to find out more, please feel free to text or phone. I've had lodgers who are staff at the uni, but the situation is not suitable for students - sorry.
