Attractive room with own bathroom

All areas of the house are central-heated. It's double glazed and carpeted throughout, so the emphasis is on comfort.

The house is near Whitgift School, in a fairly peaceful road of detached houses. Buses to Croydon centre, Purley and East Croydon station are between one and five minutes walk. South Croydon station is about 10 minutes walk. Trains to Victoria and London Bridge (15 to 20 minutes) available regularly at both South Croydon and East Croydon stations.

You will have the run of the ground floor large sitting-room (with excellent television), dining room, breakfast room, music-room, kitchen and utility room with all the usual apparatus and your own separate fridge/freezer. All bills are paid including Council tax, house cleaner (twice weekly), and a professional garden maintenance firm.

The room itself is a double room, but (as I am only seeking one lodger) I have replaced the double bed with a very comfortable single bed to preserve the room's spacious feeling. It has a pleasant view over school playing fields. There is plenty of storage and a fitted desk.(Missing from the photo, the bedside table and light.) One of the two bathrooms adjoins the room and is for the exclusive use of the new occupant.

I myself am past retiring age but far from being retired. I run my own active business from the house (nothing disturbing), and I cook meals every day, entertain a friend for lunch every week and from time to time give a dinner party for half-a-dozen friends.

There is also plenty of parking space on the front drive of the house. Broadband is available 24/7.

I would welcome someone who is self reliant, will regard the house as home, perhaps occasionally socialise for coffee or a drink (I can’t be doing with a hermit!) You would be free to invite friends in and entertain them if you want to. Tidiness and cleanliness not an obsession but much desired. Privacy and trust are absolutes.
