Hello from Salisbury!

I have two completely updated, newly furnished double rooms available in a lovely period house, with off-road parking (rare for Salisbury) and just a 5 minute walk from the city centre and the train station - I have lived in Salisbury for years, and I bought this place with its 'cunning location' in mind! I've spent the last couple of years slowly doing it up and it's now well up to having guests.

This location would for example suit someone who needs to commute to London; someone who wants to be away at weekends to friends, family etc while in Salisbury throughout the week; someone new to Salisbury who wants to feel at home, rather than 'student house' vibe. I am not looking to accommodate couples looking to share one room - sorry, but this would be unfair on everyone else!

I include all bills, internet, the cleaner (friend of mine!) AND the ability to park (!) in the price - I appreciate that this is not the cheapest you will find, but I guess I am always looking for 'nice' people not 'cheap'... There is also every 'mod-con' you could think of too.

Presently I myself am away working overseas. So, I am working with a Salisbury letting agent to show people around, make you feel welcome etc. We aim to balance ensuring the personal touch in finding the 'right fit' of people to take care of this family home and all it's 'stuff', with the added security and confidence of it all being steered along by professional letting agents. Having worked with these agents on and off for over ten years, they are awesomely competent, but also have a good sense of humour - and they put up with 'me'!!!

Obviously if you had something against providing references (!) etc, then they may not be for you - but I trust in their judgement.

Since I am a medic, I look for responsible, educated and interesting people - female preferred as I have had bad experiences with men not looking after the place in the past, unfortunately. The agents know who will suit, and I'd rather a room be left empty, awaiting the right person, than rush into problems.

I always aim for two lodgers, so there will be company even with me away. I will occasionally come and go, and this place is 'home' to me. So I only have one real 'rule', and this is for the protection of the property and sanity of everyone concerned:

This is a home - it isn't a 'party-pad'; or for those with parters who will half-move in and overstay their welcome; or for a high-footfall of people dropping by. Perhaps I should capitalise and say it's a 'Home'!

Maybe wait until you see it, and you'll understand. The hops is it feels like 'family', a place to take care of whoever is there, and I definitely enjoy it when people make their own 'Home' of it. Please, just use lovely Salisbury for the noisy, social bits!!!

Lastly, parts of any old building like this are work in progress. Mostly however this is the top floor, where you will never need to go - all public spaces are on the ground and first floors, and very comfortable. There may be phases of further things being do up, raises the standards of where you are living, that is part of the deal! And of course you will always know in advance. The people I use for any work I know very well, and they in turn know the house very well (They would also be the ones fixing anything that brakes so you don't have to!)
